Bury - Multiple Temporary Road Closures due to Works

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984, SECTION 14(1)

THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH OF BURY

(ROCHDALE ROAD, BURY)

TEMPORARY CLOSURE 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the Metropolitan Borough of Bury intend in not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from proceeding along:-

Rochdale Road, Bury – between Wash Lane & Heap Bridge (Rochdale Boundary)

The reason for the proposed order is to facilitate carriageway resurfacing works.

The alternative route for non-restricted vehicles will be via Wash Lane, Bond Street, Rochdale Road & either Derby Way, Peel Way & Jubilee Way or Angouleme Way to Manchester Road, Hollins Brow, Croft Lane, Pilsworth Road, Moss Hall Road, Heap Brow & Bury New Road (Rochdale) & vice–versa

Alternative routes for restricted heavy goods vehicles will also be signed.

The proposed Order will come into operation on Monday 19 May 2025 and shall remain in force for a period of up to 12 months, although the anticipated duration of the works is 3 weeks (overnight working, 8pm–5am)

TEMPORARY CLOSURE ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the Metropolitan Borough of Bury intend in not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and of all other enabling powers, the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicles from proceeding along:-

  1. Hillyard Street, Bury – Full Length

  2. Arden Close, Bury – Full Length

  3. Ascot Meadows, Bury – Full Length

  4. Chestnut Avenue, Bury – Full Length

  5. Pole Lane, Whitefield – Full Length

  6. Heaton Road, Radcliffe – Full Length

The reason for the proposed order is to facilitate carriageway resurfacing works.

The alternative routes will be:-

  1. Via Harvey Street, Allen Street, New George Street & vice versa

  2. N/A – no through road

  3. N/A – no through road

  4. Via Maxwell Street, Willow Street, Teak Street & vice versa

  5. N/A – no through road

  6. N/A – no through road

The proposed Order will come into operation on 19/05/2025 and shall remain in force for a period of up to 18 months, although the anticipated duration of the works is approximately 3 weeks at each location.

(VICTORIA STREET, COOMASSIE STREET - RADCLIFFE)

TEMPORARY CLOSURE ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the Metropolitan Borough of Bury intend in not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and of all other enabling powers, the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicles from proceeding along:-

Victoria Street, Radcliffe – Between Chard Street & Lord Street.

Coomassie Street, Radcliffe – Between Aitken Street & Chard Street.

The reason for the proposed order is facilitate gas works.

The alternative routes will be:-

Northbound traffic – Wolsley Street, Chard Street, Coomassie Street.

Southbound traffic – Coomassie Street, School Street, Victoria Street.

The proposed Order will come into operation on 21/05/2025 and shall remain in force for a period of up to 18 months, although the anticipated duration of the works is approximately 3 weeks at each location.
