Various Roads in Godalming (Godalming Run Event)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
On 30 April 2025 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Order, pursuant to Sections 16A and 16B of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (“the Act”), the effect of which will be to prohibit all vehicles from entering or proceeding along those lengths of roads in Godalming specified in the Schedule to this Notice, or any parts thereof. Such restriction shall also apply in relation to the riding, leading or driving of horses or any other animals.
The Order will come into effect on 18 May 2025, for a period of one day, but the prohibitions will only be operative when the relevant signs are displayed.
The Order is required to facilitate the holding of an event on the highway, namely the Godalming Run and will not apply to such vehicles being used in connection with the event, or to anything done on the direction or with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a traffic marshal, or any sign placed by Surrey Police
Emergency access will be maintained for the police, fire brigade and ambulance services and for organisations responsible for dealing with the loss of supplies of gas, electricity, water or electronic communications, to premises in the area and for the removal of any obstruction to traffic.
The Council are satisfied that, in order to avoid danger to persons or other traffic using the road to which this Order relates, or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising, vehicular access to premises situated in such lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice, or accessible only therefrom, may be restricted, save for emergency access as indicated above, though it is anticipated that the temporary closures will only take effect during between 09:50am and 1pm.
It will be possible for vehicles emerging from properties in Borough Road north of the Thames Water Depot to turn left and exit the road at its junction with Charterhouse Road. Access for pedestrians will be unaffected.
The Council are also satisfied, in accordance with subsection (3) of Section 16A of the Act, that the event to which the Order relates cannot be held otherwise than on a road.
The alternative route for traffic will be via Chalk Road, Bridge Road, Wharf Street, Flambard Way, Station Road and Mill Way, or this route in reverse.

SCHEDULE:
1. That length of D5403 Borough Road, from its junction with C23 Charterhouse Road, to its junction with D5403 Church Street.
2. That length of D5403 Church Street, from its junction with D5421 Mint Street, to its junction with D5421 Station Road.
3. That length of D5421 Station Road, from its junction with D5403 Church Street, to its junction with the south-western kerb line of D5421 Westbrook Road.
4. The entire length of D5421 Westbrook Road.
C37 One Tree Hill Road, Guildford
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
On 30 April 2025 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of C37 One Tree Hill Road, Guildford that extends from its junction with D4007 Little Warren Close, to the northeastern property boundary of “The Red House”.
This Traffic Order is required to enable ALS Civil Engineers to make a new utility connection and/or to carry out maintenance works.
These works are anticipated to be carried out between the hours of 8am and 5pm within 2 weeks of the 12 month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 19 May 2025.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure which is anticipated will be required for 24 hours each day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.
Access for pedestrians; dismounted cyclists and equestrians will be maintained at all times. Access for residences and businesses on the affected length of C37 One Tree Hill Road, only, will be maintained at all times.
Access for emergency services, cyclists and equestrians will be maintained via the alternative route:- One Tree Hill Road, Warren Road, Austen Road, Sydney Road, Epsom Road, Waterden Road York Road, Onslow Street, Millbrook, Shalford Road, The Street, Horsham Road, Kings Road, Christmas Hill, New Road, Dorking Road, Blacksmith Lane, Halfpenny Lane and One Tree Hill.
D4045 Lynchford Road and D4045 Lysons Avenue, Ash Vale
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
On 30 April 2025 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit all traffic (including pedestrians and cyclists) from entering or proceeding in that length of D4045 Lynchford Road and D4045 Lysons Avenue, Ash Vale that is crossed by the North Camp Station level crossing and for a distance of 20m either side.
This Temporary Traffic Order is required to enable Centurion and/or Network Rail to carry out signals and/or telecoms and/or level crossing maintenance works.
These works are anticipated to be carried out between the hours of 10pm and 6am, within 2 nights of the 12 month period of operation of the Temporary Order, which commences on 14 May 2025. Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.
Access for emergency services, residents and businesses, cyclists and equestrians will be maintained via the signed vehicular diversion route:- Lynchford Road, North Camp Station Roundabout and Lysons Avenue. Access for pedestrians and, dismounted cyclists and equestrians will be maintained at all times via the footway to Lynchford Road and Lysons Avenue.
Sandy Lane (D99) Guildford
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
On 30 April 2025 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Sandy Lane (D99) Guildford as extends from its junction with (D99) Littleton Lane to its junction with (X604) The Drive.
Alternative Route: Sandy Lane, (A3100) Portsmouth Road, (A3100) Old Portsmouth Road, (B3000) New Pond Road, Stakescorner Road, and Littleton Lane, or this route in reverse.
This Order is required to facilitate underground cabling works for, or
on behalf of UKPN.
These works are anticipated to be carried out over 5 days, between the hours of 8am and 6pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 05 May 2025.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for residents, pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. All other traffic, including the emergency services will be required to use the signed diversion route.
Vernon Way (D4001) Guildford
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
On 30 April 2025 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Vernon Way (D4001) Guildford as extends from a point in line with the common boundary between No.10 and No.11 Vernon Way to its junction with (D4001) Roundhill Way.
Alternative Route: Roundhill Way, Fairfield Rise, Linkway, and Vernon Way, or this route in reverse.
This Order is required to facilitate essential mains gas works for, or on behalf of SGN. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 5 days, between the hours of 8am and 4pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 12 May 2025.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for residents, pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. All other traffic, including the emergency services will be required to use the signed diversion route.
Staines Road and The Broadway (B376) Laleham
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
On 30 April 2025 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of; (a) Staines Road (B376) Laleham as extends from its junction at the roundabout with (B376) The Broadway to its junction with (X6633) Cedar Close; (b) The Broadway (B376) Laleham as extends from its junction at the roundabout with (B376) Staines Road to its junction with (X67698) Church Close; (c) The Broadway (B376) Laleham as extends from its junction at the roundabout with (B376) Staines Road to its junction with (D3313) Blacksmiths Lane.
Alternative Route: (1) (B376) Staines Road, Worple Road, Kingston Road, (B377) Ashford Road, and (B376) The Broadway, or this route in reverse; (2) (B376) Shepperton Road, (B376) Laleham Road, (B3366) Green Lane, (A244) Gaston Bridge Road, (A244) Upper Halliford By-Pass, (A244) Windmill Road, (A308) Staines Road West, (B377) Kingston Road, (B377) Ashford Road, and (B377) The Broadway, or this route in reverse.
This Order is required to facilitate enlargement of the existing mini roundabout in connection with S278 works for, or on behalf of Careys.
These works are anticipated to be carried out over 7 weeks, as nightworks, between the hours of 8pm and 5am, within the 12-month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 12 May 2025.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. Due to the nature of the works, there will be no access through the closure, and all traffic will be required to use the signed diversion route. No sole access will be affected by this closure.
Portsmouth Road (A3100) Godalming
Temporary Speed Limit Order 2025
On 30 April 2025 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from driving or proceeding at a speed greater than 10 MPH in that length of Portsmouth Road (A3100) Godalming as extends from its roundabout with (A3100) Ockford Road and (D5404) Shackstead Lane to its junction with (D94) Eashing Lane. This Temporary Traffic Order is required to facilitate excavation and replacement of pipe works and/or maintenance works for, or on behalf of Thames Water.
These works are anticipated to be carried out over 5 days, between the hours of 8am and 7pm, within the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Traffic Order which commences on 12 May 2025.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary speed limit which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.
The speed limit imposed by this Order shall not apply to vehicles used by special forces in accordance with the Road Traffic Exemptions (Special Forces) (Variation and Amendment) Regulations 2011 or in respect of anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or in accordance with any restriction or requirement indicated by traffic signs placed on the road by or on behalf of the Police.
St Peters Way and Guildford Road (A320) Chertsey
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Management Order 2025
On 30 April 2025 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) and 14(7) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to; (a) prohibit any person from entering or proceeding on foot or by any other means in the lengths of roads specified and described in the Schedule of this Notice; (b) impose a 30mph speed limit on the lengths of roads specified and described in the Schedule of this Notice; (c) prohibit waiting, loading, and unloading at any time, by vehicles in the lengths of roads specified and described in the Schedule of this Notice; and, (d) Suspend “The Surrey County Council A317/A320 St Peters Way, Addlestone (50 Miles Per Hour Speed Limit) Order 2003” made or having effect as if made under Sections 82, 83 and/or 84 of the Act insofar as affects the length of road described in the schedule of this Notice; (e) Suspend “Borough of Runnymede (Various Roads) (40 MPH Speed Limit) Order 1981” made or having effect as if made under Sections 82, 83 and/or 84 of the Act insofar as affects the length of road described in the schedule of this Notice.
This Order is required to enable Surrey County Council and Grahams to facilitate the A320 HIF Scheme works, and other associated works, which are anticipated to be carried out over multiple phases. Works will be carried out as night works, between the hours of 8pm and 6am, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays Only, within the 18-month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 14 May 2025.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closures, and restrictions, which are anticipated to be in force 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to a suitable location outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle’s owner.
For sub-paragraph (a) above: Due to the nature of the works, there will be no access while works are in place and all traffic (including pedestrians and cyclists) will be required to use the signed diversion route. The Council are satisfied that, in accordance with Section 3(2)(a) and 3(2)(b) of the Act, vehicular access to and from premises within the length of road above, or accessible only therefrom, may be restricted in order to avoid danger to persons or other traffic using the road and/or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising.
For subparagraph (b) above: The speed limit imposed by this Order shall not apply to vehicles used by special forces in accordance with the Road Traffic Exemptions (Special Forces) (Variation and Amendment) Regulations 2011 or in respect of anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or in accordance with any restriction or requirement indicated by traffic signs placed on the road by or on behalf of the Police.
For sub-paragraph (c) above: Exemptions apply for vehicles when waiting because they are required by law to stop, are obliged to stop in order to prevent an accident or are prevented from proceeding because of circumstances outside the drivers control and in respect of anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or of a civil enforcement officer will apply when the temporary restrictions are in force. (N.B. Disabled persons displaying a disabled blue badge will not be exempt from the temporary waiting restriction).
Schedule

(a) that length of St Peters Way (A320) Chertsey as extends from its roundabout with (A320) Guildford Road to its roundabout with (A320) Roundabout Junction 11. Alternative Route: (A320) Roundabout Junction 11, (A317) St Peters Way, (A317) Chertsey Road, (A317) Eastworth Road, (A317) Pyrcroft Road, (A320) Bell Bridge Roundabout, (A320) Bell Bridge Road, and (A320) Guildford Road, or this route in reverse.
(b) that length of Guildford Road (A320) Chertsey as extends from its roundabout with (B3121) Murray Road and (A319) Chobham Road to its roundabout with (A320) Bellbridge Road. Alternative Route: (A320) Guildford Road, (A320) Bell Bridge Road, (A320) Bell Bridge Roundabout, (A317) Pyrcroft Road, (A317) Eastworth Road, (A317) Chertsey Road, (A318) Chertsey Road, (A318) High Street, (B3121) Church Road, (B3121) Spinney Hill, and (B3121) Murray Road, or this route in reverse. sub-paragraph (b): prohibit vehicles from driving or proceeding at a speed greater than 30 MPH in:
(c) that length of St Peters Way (A320) Chertsey as extends from its roundabout with (A320) Guildford Road to its roundabout with (A320) Roundabout Junction 11.
(d) that length of Guildford Road (A320) Chertsey as extends from its roundabout with (B3121) Murray Road and (A319) Chobham Road to its roundabout with (D7026) The Knoll.
sub-paragraph (c): prohibit waiting, loading, and unloading at any time, by vehicles in:
(e) that length of the eastbound lay-by of the carriageway of St Peters Way (A320) Chertsey as extends from its roundabout with (A320) Guildford Road to its roundabout with the M25 junction 11.
(f) that length of the westbound lay-by of the carriageway of St Peters Way (A320) Chertsey as extends from its roundabout with M25 junction 11 to its roundabout with (A320) Guildford Road.
Knowle Lane (D184) Cranleigh
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order (No.2) 2025
On 30 April 2025 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) and 14(7) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit all traffic (including pedestrians, cyclists and equestrians) from entering or proceeding in that length of; (a) Knowle Lane (D184) Cranleigh as extends from its junction with the access to the property known as “White Meads” to its junction with the access to the property known as “Waterland Cottage”; and (b) Suspend “The Surrey County Council Knowle Lane (D184) Cranleigh Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order (No.2) 2024” insofar as it affects that length of road specified in Part (a) of this Notice.
Alternative Route: (1) Knowle Lane, (B2128) High Street, ( B2128) The Common, (B2130) Elmbridge Road, Alfold Road, (A281) Guildford Road, Wildwood Lane, (A281), and Knowle Lane, or this route in reverse; (2) Footpath 381, Footpath 378, and Footpath 377, or this route in reverse; (3) Bridleway 377, Bridleway 383, and Bridleway 383, or this route in reverse; (4) Footpath 381, and Bridleway 566, or this route in reverse.
This Order is required to facilitate bridge replacement works for, or on behalf of Surrey County Council. These works are anticipated to be carried out as soon as possible, during the 18-month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 05 May 2025.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Due to the nature of the works, there will be no access through the closure, and all traffic will be required to use the signed diversion routes. No sole access will be affected by this closure.
Townpath – Wavendene Avenue to Ayebridges Avenue (T1014), Egham
Public Footpath No.36 (Egham)
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
On 30 April 2025 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit pedestrians and/or other traffic proceeding on foot or by any means from entering or proceeding in the entire length of Townpath – Wavendene Avenue to Ayebridges Avenue (T1014), Egham, otherwise known as Public Footpath No.36 (Egham). This Order is required to enable Surrey County Council to facilitate footway reconstruction works which is anticipated to be completed as soon as possible within the 6 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 7 May 2025.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. No sole means of access to any premises will be affected.
Alternative Route – D3162 Ayesbridges Avenue, B3376 Thorpe Lea Road, B388 Thorpe Lea Road and D3163 Wavendene Avenue.
B389 Sandhills Lane, Virginia Water and B389 Green Road, Thorpe
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
Surrey County Council propose to make the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the entire length of B389 Sandhills Lane, Virginia Water and B389 Green Road, Thorpe.
This Traffic Order is required to enable Affinity Water to relay a long service pipe and/or carry out maintenance works in B389 Sandhills Lane, between “Fairways” and “Oak Lodge”. These works are anticipated to be carried out between the hours of 8am and 4pm within 4 days of the 12 month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 27 May 2025.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.
Access for emergency services, residents, businesses, pedestrians, cyclists and equestrians will be maintained at all times.
Alternative route:- Green Road, Thorpe By-Pass, New Wickham Lane, Stroude Road and Sandhills Lane.
London Road (A30) Egham
Temporary Suspension of Cycle Lane Order 2025
Surrey County Council propose to make the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to suspend “The Surrey County Council London Road (A30) Egham/Virginia Water/Sunningdale (Cycle Lanes) (No.1) Order 2004” shall be suspended insofar as it relates to the southbound A30 between a point 61 metres north of the centreline of Bakeham Lane and Bakeham Lane.
The Order is required to allow Openreach to carry out utility works and all associated works which is anticipated to be completed within 4 days, between 9:00am and 4:00pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 30 May 2025. Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary suspension, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.
Send Marsh Road (B368) Send
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
Surrey County Council propose to make the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Send Marsh Road (B368) Send as extends from its junction with (A247) Send Barns Lane/Send Road and (D232) Send Hill north-eastwards for a distance of 500 metres.
Alternative Route – A247 Send Barns Lane; Portsmouth Road; Send Marsh Road; Send Marsh Green; and Send Marsh Road or this same route in reverse.
The Order is required to allow underground telecoms utility works and/or any other associated works to be carried out by, or on behalf of BT Openreach within the length of road described in this notice. These works are anticipated to be carried out as soon as possible over one day between the hours of 8am and 4pm within the 12-month period of operation of the Temporary Order that commences on 25 May 2025.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for residents, the emergency services, pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. All other traffic, will be required to use the signed diversion route.
Pleasant Place (D3903) Hersham
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Pleasant Place (D3903) Hersham as extends from its junction with the access to the property known as “Burnhill County Primary School” to a point in line with the common boundary between property No.48 and No.50 Pleasant Place.
Alternative Route: Pleasant Place, Back Green, Burnhill Road, Burwood Road, and Pleasant Place, or this route in reverse.
This Order is required to facilitate new water connection works for, or on behalf of Affinity Water.
These works are anticipated to be carried out over 3 days, between the hours of 8am and 7pm, within the 12-month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 28 May 2025.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.
Due to the nature of the works, there will be no access through the closure and all traffic, including emergency services, will be required to use the signed diversion route.
The Council are satisfied that, in accordance with Section 3(2)(a) and 3(2)(b) of the Act, vehicular access to and from premises within the length of road above, or accessible only therefrom, may be restricted in order to avoid danger to persons or other traffic using the road and/or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising.
Oxenden Road (C119) Tongham
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Oxenden Road (C119) Tongham as extends from its junction with (D879) Oxenden Court to its junction with (A323) Aldershot Road.
Alternative Route: (A323) Aldershot Road, Manor Road, and Oxenden Road, or this route in reverse.
This Order is required to facilitate manhole cover replacement works for, or on behalf of Thames Water.
These works are anticipated to be carried out over 1 night, between the hours of 7.30pm and 23.59pm, within the 12-month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 27 May 2025.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. It will not be possible to maintain access through the closure for emergency services, residents and businesses and all vehicular traffic will be required to use the signed diversion route.
The Council are satisfied that, in accordance with Section 3(2)(a) and 3(2)(b) of the Act, vehicular access to and from premises within the length of road above, or accessible only therefrom, may be restricted in order to avoid danger to persons or other traffic using the road and/or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising.
Station Road (D207) Shalford and Upper Street (C46) Shere
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of; (a) Station Road (D207) Shalford as extends from its junction with (A248) Kings Road to its junction with (X207) Pound Place.
Alternative Route: Station Road and (A248) Kings Road, or this route in reverse; (b). Upper Street (C46) Shere as extends from its junction with the access to the property known as “Bignolds” to its junction with the access to the property known as “Fernside”.
Alternative Route: Upper Street, (A25) Shere Road, Gomshall Lane, and Upper Street, or this route in reverse.
The Order is required to facilitate excavation and installation of new pressure reducing valve mains water works and new connection works for, or on behalf of Thames Water.
For part (a) These works are anticipated to be carried out over 14 days, between the hours of 8am and 5pm. For part (b) These works are anticipated to be carried out over 5 days, between the hours of 8am and 6pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 19 May 2025.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.
Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, as will access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists, via road plates, if required. No sole access will be affected by these closures.

Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023
The Surrey County Council Public Bridleway No. 105 (Thursley)
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023 was made on the grounds of public safety due to a section of the Bridleway having collapsed into the adjacent pond. The Order came into operation on 22 November 2023. It was due to expire on 22 May 2024 but was continued in force by the Secretary of State for Transport until 22 May 2025. It has now been extended by the Secretary of State for a second time until 22 May 2026 or until the completion of the works, whichever is earlier.
The Order as continued prohibits all traffic on foot or by any other means from entering or proceeding in that length of Public Bridleway 105 (Thursley), from its junction with Footpath 89 (Thursley) (Grid reference 490611 138307) in a generally south-easterly direction for 220 metres, to its junction with Footpath 205a (Thursley).
The prohibition described above will only be operative while the County Council, or an authorised person acting on its behalf, displays signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2002 (S.I. 2002 No. 3113) prohibiting the said movements.
Access to properties will not be affected.
There is no suggested alternate route.
