Bradford, Waiting, Loading & Parking Restrictions Due To Cycling & Walking Improvement Scheme

What is happening?

CITY OF BRADFORD METROPOLITAN DISTRICT COUNCIL (WAITING LOADING AND PARKING) (CONSOLIDATION) (AMENDMENT NO.4) ORDER 2025

TCF BRADFORD CITY CENTRE CYCLING AND WALKING IMPROVEMENT SCHEME VARIOUS ROADS

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council made the above Order on 29 April 2025 under their powers contained in the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the general effect of which will be to introduce the following restrictions on lengths of roads in Bradford City Centre:-

1. no waiting or loading at any time on lengths of Upper Piccadilly, John Street, Westgate, Godwin Street, Kirkgate, Sunbridge Road, Princes Way, Hall Ings, Nelson Street, Manchester Road, Cheapside, Lower Kirkgate, Bridge Street, Well Street, Vicar Lane, and Leeds Road.

2. no waiting at any time and no loading at midnight-6am, 10.30am-4.30pm and 6.30pm-midnight on lengths of Market Street, Bank Street, Broadway, Bridge Street from its junction with Sunbridge Road to its junction with Hall Ings, Hall Ings (all lanes in both directions) from its junction with Bank Street to its junction with Nelson Street & Charming Way and Hall Ings (lanes going Northbound) from its junction with Princes Way to its junction with Channing Way.

3. disabled parking bays on Sunbridge Road and Kirkgate.

4. police only parking bays on Norfolk Gardens.

5. loading only parking bays on Norfolk Gardens.

6. charged parking bays on Sunbridge Road.

7. taxi rank on Westgate.

The Order comes into force on 2 May 2025. A copy of the Order together with documents that give more detailed particulars may be examined during normal office hours at Customer Services Reception, Ground Floor, City Hall, Bradford BD1 1HY, examined on the Council's website at https:// www.bradford.gov.uk/transport-and-travel/highways/traffic-regulation-order, or obtained from Sukhpal Shergill, Senior Engineer - Traffic & Road Safety South by email sukhpal.shergill@bradford.gov.uk quoting reference number PTH/HDC/104971/WO/SS.

If you wish to question the validity of the Order, or of any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or on the grounds that any requirements of that Act or of any Instrument made under it, have not been complied with in relation to the Order, you may, within six weeks from the date upon which the Order was made (i.e. from 29 April 2025) apply to the High Court for this purpose.
