Moody Lane - Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic to Allow Safe Working Area for Overhead Structure Works, Pole Testing and Tree Cutting Works to Be Carried Out
What is happening?
LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(BENTLEY LANE, HILLDALE, WEST LANCASHIRE BOROUGH AND MOODY LANE, MAWDESLEY, CHORLEY BOROUGH) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council intend to make an Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this notice.
1. No person shall cause any motor vehicle to proceed over the following lengths of highway:-
i. Bentley Lane, Hilldale, West Lancashire Borough from Ridley Lane, Mawdesley, Chorley Borough to the eastern boundary of the property named Woodlands.
ii. Moody Lane, Mawdesley, Chorley Borough from Bentley Lane, Hilldale, West Lancashire Borough for a distance of 50m in a northwesterly direction.
2. Nothing in this order shall apply to persons engaged in the carrying out of the works.
3. The prohibition will be operative from 0930 hours on Tuesday 6th May 2025 until 1530 hours on Thursday 8th May 2025 or until completion of the works within this period. Access for emergency services will be maintained whenever and wherever possible.
4. Vehicular access for residents will be maintained whenever and wherever possible. Pedestrian access to properties will always be maintained.
5. An alternative route for vehicular traffic affected by the closure is via:- Bannister Lane – Whittle Lane – High Moor Lane – Robin Hood Lane – Hill House Fold Lane – Courage Low Lane – Toogood Lane – Smithy Brow – Barmskin Lane and vice versa
Note : Diversion Clockwise from Moody Lane includes Back Lane East and Ridley Lane.
The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow safe working area for overhead structure works, pole testing and tree cutting works to be carried out.
