Shropshire - Various Temporary Road Traffic Restrictions

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER/S –      

PUBLIC NOTICES OF MAKING      

         
NOTICE is hereby given that Shropshire Council (“The Council”) have made an Order/s under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984 (as amended), the effect of which is to restrict the use of roads as stated below. The Order/s for regulation is/are required for the purpose/s as stated below. There are exemptions in the Order/s to permit pedestrian access (and/or vehicular access at the discretion of the Council or Statutory Undertaker) to any land or premises having a frontage to the said highway affected where there is no other form of access, and to any access allowing the necessary works to be undertaken. Access will be maintained for cyclists, pedestrians and dismounted horse riders unless stated below.  The alternative route/s for those affected by the proposal/s is/are as stated below.         
         
The Order/s came into force on 5 th May 2025 and will remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months (unless extended upon the direction of the Secretary of State) or until any said works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is expected that the Order/s will only be operative for the duration as stated below.

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using A464, Holyhead Road, Albrighton
Date & Duration: 9th May 2025 for 2 days, 12th May 2025 and 21st May 2025 for 7 days between 09:30 to 16:00 (Weekdays) and 06:00 to 18:00 (Weekends)
Purpose: Surface Dressing and associated works
Alternative Route : A41, A5, A464


Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Audlem Road, Woore
Date & Duration: 11th May 2025 between 09:30 to 15:30
Purpose: Road Closure - Replace pole in verge.
Alternative Route : A525, A529, A530, A51



Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using B4397 Burlton to Loppington
Date & Duration: 8th May 2025 between 09:30 to 14:30
Purpose: Road Closure - Pole Test
Alternative Route : B4397, B5476, A528, B4397


Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using B5068, Elson Road, Ellesmere
Date & Duration: 7th May 2025 between 09:30 to 14:30
Purpose: Road Closure - Lay duct

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Caegoody Lane, Ellesmere
Date & Duration: 7th May 2025 between 09:30 to 15:30
Purpose: Road Closure - Lay duct TM support for linked permit.

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Calcott Lane, Shrewsbury
Date & Duration: 5th May 2025 for 3 days
Purpose: Road Closure - BT, 110 metres of new ducting to be installed and 2 new floor boxes constructed.

Date & Duration: 6th May 2025 for 1 day
Purpose: Road Closure-Severn Trent Water-sewer lining

Date & Duration: 7th May 2025 for 3 days
Purpose: Road Closure - New Connection

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Long Lane, Craven Arms
Date & Duration: 10th May 2025 from 22:30 to 10:05 11th May 2025
Purpose: Road Closure-Network Rail -Level Crossing Maintenance
Alternative Route : Long Lane, Watling Street, Clun Road, A49


Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Merrington Road, Merrington
Date & Duration: 8th May 2025 for 1 day
Purpose: Road Closure - BT, road closure required for pole replacement.
Alternative Route : Merrington Road, Baschurch Road, B5067, Unnamed road North East through Old Woods and towards Merrington


Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Muckleton Road, Shawbury
Date & Duration: 6th May 2025 for 6 days between 08:00 to 17:00
Purpose: Road Closure - Repair multiple blockages on existing network and cable full section once fluid.
Alternative Route : A53, Unnamed road South


Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using No Mans Green Lane, Alveley
Date & Duration: 5th May 2025 for 3 days
Purpose: Road Closure-Severn Trent Water-Hydrant Renew
Alternative Route : Beacon Lane, Heronsgate Road


Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using B4370, Marshbrook to A49 junction
Date & Duration: 6th May 2025 for 3 days between 09:30 to 16:00
Purpose: Renewal of road markings

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Parkfields, Weston Lullingfields
Date & Duration: 6th May 2025 for 3 days
Purpose: Drainage investigation
Alternative Route : Unnamed road North West, Unnamed road North East towards Stanwardine in the Wood, Unnamed road South West


Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using St Giles Road, Shrewsbury
Date & Duration: 6th May 2025 between 09:30 to 16:00
Purpose: Road Closure - BT, to provide a safe working area for engineers to excavate and provide new ducting in footway to provide service to customer
Alternative Route : Wenlock Road, London Road


Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using B4396 Osbaston
Date & Duration: 10th May 2025 for 3 days and 23rd May 2025 for 1 day between 09:30 to 16:00 (weekdays) and 06:00 to 18:00 (weekends)
Purpose: Surface Dressing and associated works
Alternative Route : B4398, A483, B4396


Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using B4398 Llanymynech to Knockin
Date & Duration: 10th May 2025 for 3 days and 27th May 2025 for 3 days between 09:30 to 16:00 (weekdays) and 06:00 to 18:00 (weekends)
Purpose: Surface Dressing and associated works
Alternative Route : A483, B4396, B4398


Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed road between B4368 and Kempton
Date & Duration: 5th May 2025 for 3 days
Purpose: Road Closure-Severn Trent Water - Meter Rebuild chamber
Alternative Route : B4368, B4385, Unnamed road South West, Unnamed road South


Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed Road between Haughton and B5062, Haughton
Date & Duration: 6th May 2025 for 1 day
Purpose: Road Closure - BT, road closure required for the safe access for pole testing works.
Alternative Route : B5062, A49, A53, Unnamed road South East through Ebrey Wood


Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed road between Milson and Tenbury Road
Date & Duration: 6th May 2025 between 09:30 to 15:30
Purpose: Road Closure-Openreach-Road closure required for safe access to engineer for pole test

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed road from Steel Heath to Prees
Date & Duration: 6th May 2025 for 2 days
Purpose: Road Closure - Boundary box Install

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed road south of Rhydycroesau
Date & Duration: 6th May 2025 for 1 day
Purpose: Road Closure - Pressure Valve Renew

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed road through Nant-Y-Caws
Date & Duration: 6th May 2025 for 2 days
Purpose: Road Closure - Boundary Box Install
Alternative Route : Nant Lane. Trefonen Road, B5069, Unnamed road West


Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed road, Lower Hordley
Date & Duration: 6th May 2025 between 09:30 to 15:30
Purpose: Road Closure - Boundary Box Installation
Alternative Route : Unnamed road North, Unnamed road South East, Unnamed road South, Unnamed road West


Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using A5 Crackley Bank
Date & Duration: 8th May 2025 for 2 days, 16th May 2025 for 4 days and 8th June 2025 for 2 days between 09:30 to 16:00 (weekdays) and 06:00 to 18:00 (weekends)
Purpose: Surface Dressing and associated works
Alternative Route : A41, A518, A4640


Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Vicarage Road, Clun
Date & Duration: 6th May 2025 for 2 days
Purpose: Road Closure-Severn Trent Water Bbox Install and Meter
Alternative Route : Unnamed road South East, Unnamed road South West, Hand Causeway


Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using High Street, Shrewsbury
Date & Duration: 5th May 2025, every Saturday and Sunday between 10:00 to 16:00 for 550 days
Purpose: Closure of Wyle Cop, High Street. Mardol Head and Shoplatch for pedestrian safety.
Alternative Route : Beeches Lane, Town Walls, Murivance, St Chads Terrace, Claremont Bank, Lower Claremont Bank



Description of restriction: No entry will be suspended High Street junction of Postern
Gate, Bridgnorth to allow access for Cartway residents
Date & Duration: 5th May 2025 between 08:00 to 18:00
Purpose: Bridgnorth Lions Walk and Marathon, High Street (Cartway to Postern Gate) The 'no entry' at High Street junction with Cartway will be suspended to facilitate access for residents.
Alternative Route : Not applicable
