TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER/S - PUBLIC
NOTICES OF INTENTION
NOTICE is hereby given that Shropshire Council (“the Council”) intend, not less than 7 days from the date of this Notice, to make an Order/s under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984 (as amended), the effect of which is to restrict the use of road/s as stated below. The Order/s for restriction is/are required for the purpose/s as stated below. There are exceptions in the Order/s to permit pedestrian access (and/or vehicular access at the discretion of the Council or Statutory Undertaker) to any land or premises having a frontage to the said highway affected where there is no
other form of access, and to any access allowing the necessary works to be undertaken. Access will be maintained for cyclists, pedestrians and dismounted horse riders unless stated below. The alternative route/s for those affected by the proposal/s is/are as stated below.
It is intended that the proposed restriction/s will come into force on the 12th May 2025 and will continue in force for a period not exceeding eighteen months (unless extended upon the direction of the Secretary of State) or until any said works which it is proposed to be carried out have been completed, whichever is the earlier. However, it is expected the Order will only be operative for the duration as stated in below.
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Drawwell Lane, Wem
Date & Duration: 14th May 2025 between 07:00 to 19:00
Purpose: Road Closure - Replace/repair of sewer lining.
Alternative Route : Mill Street, High Street, Leek Street, Drawwell Lane
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Folley Road, Ackleton
Date & Duration: 18th May 2025 for 1 day
Purpose: Road Closure-Severn Trent Water - Short com cut off
Alternative Route : Unnamed road East, Unnamed road South West, B4176
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed road Four Lanes End to Rack Lane, Whixall
Date & Duration: 12th May 2025 between 09:30 to 15:30
Purpose: Road Closure - Safe Pole Testing
Alternative Route : Ossage Lane, Chapel Lane, Rack Lane, Goblins Lane, Unnamed road South West
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Greenfields, Shifnal
Date & Duration: 12th May 2025 for 2 days
Purpose: Road Closure-Severn Trent Water-Remedial reinstatement
Alternative Route : Aston Road, Curriers Lane, Greenfields Crescent
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using High Street and Lions Meadow, Church Stretton
Date & Duration: 18th May 2025 from 21:00 to 06:00 19th May 2025
Purpose: Road Closure-Openreach-road closure required for the safety of the engineers to carryout cabling work by accessing underground structure.
Alternative Route : B5477, A49, B4371, B5477 and High Street, Sandford Avenue, Easthope Road
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using High Street, Shrewsbury
Date & Duration: 18th May 2025 between 10:00 to 16:00
Purpose: Road Closure - Severn Trent Water, remedial works required to defective reinstatement
Alternative Route : Beeches Lane, Town Walls, Murivance, St Chads Terrace, Claremont Bank, Lower Claremont Bank
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from turning left into Castle Gates from Howard Street, Shrewsbury at the same time the waiting, loading and parking will be suspended opposite the Buttermarket
Date & Duration: 12th May 2025 for 10 days
Purpose: National Grid, cable reinforcement scheme.
Alternative Route : Not applicable
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Long Lane, Craven Arms
Date & Duration: 13th May 2025 for 3 days
Purpose: Road Closure-Severn Trent Water - Remedial reinstatement
Alternative Route : A49, B4368, Watling Street
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Moat Street, Bridgnorth
Date & Duration: 12th May 2025 for 3 days
Purpose: Road Closure-Cadent-Lay new domestic gas service from main located in the carriageway
Alternative Route : Moat Street, St Leonards Close, Church Street, High Street
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Moss Lane, Cheswardine
Date & Duration: 13th May 2025 for 1 day between 09:30 to 15:30
Purpose: Road Closure - MJ Quinn to replace wooden pole
Alternative Route : Unnamed road North, Unnamed road West and South West towards Chipnall
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using New Street Lane, Calverhall
Date & Duration: 13th May 2025 for 2 days
Purpose: Road Closure - Boundary Box Install
Alternative Route : Bletchley Road, A41, Unnamed road North East through Longford and Longslow, Unnamed road North West
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Prees Level Crossing, Station Road, Prees
Date & Duration: 17th May 2025 from 23:30 to 08:20 18th May 2025
Purpose: Road Closure - Level Crossing Maintenance
Alternative Route : Station Road, Shrewsbury Street, A49, Aldersley Lane, Unnamed road West towards Quina Brook, B5476, Station Road
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using B4369 Broome Road, Broome
Date & Duration: 13th May 2025 for 7 days between 09:30 to 16:00
Purpose: Road Closure to enable carriageway repairs
Alternative Route : B4367, B4368
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using A495 Mereside, Ellesmere
Date & Duration: 16th May 2025 for 7 days between 09:30 to 16:00
Purpose: Multevo carriageway repairs

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using B4555 Haybridge to Eardington
Date & Duration: 15th May 2025 for 2 days between 09:30 to 16:00
Purpose: Multevo carriageway repairs

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using B4373 Cross Lane Head
Date & Duration: 16th May 2025 for 1 day, 29th May 2025 for 3 days and 18th June 2025 for 1 day between 09:30 to 16:00 (weekdays) and 06:00 to 18:00 (weekends)
Purpose: Surface Dressing and associated works

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using B5065 Wem to Prees Green
Date & Duration: 13th May 2025 for 4 days and 31st May 2025 between 09:30 to 16:00 (weekdays) and 06:00 to 18:00 (weekends)
Purpose: Surface Dressing and associated works

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using A464 Priorslee Road, Shifnal
Date & Duration: 15th May 2025 for 2 days, 28th May 2025 for 3 days and 16th June 2025 for 2 days between 09:30 to 16:00
Purpose: Surface Dressing and associated works

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using A458 Bridgnorth to Tasley
Date & Duration: 17th May 2025 for 1 day, 29th May 2025 for 3 days and 19th June 2025 for 1 day between 09:30 to 16:00 (weekdays) and 06:00 to 18:00 (weekends)
Purpose: Surface Dressing and associated works
Alternative Route : A442, A4169, A458
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed Road, Weston Under Redcastle to Hodnet
Date & Duration: 14th May 2025 for 3 days and 27th May 2025 for 1 day between 09:30 to 16:00 and 06:00 to 18:00
Purpose: Surface Dressing and associated works
Alternative Route : A49, B5065, Unnamed road South West through Marchamley
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Underdale Road, Shrewsbury
Date & Duration: 12th May 2025 for 2 days
Purpose: Road Closure - Severn Trent Water, inspection of sewer network.
Alternative Route : Ashley Street, Monkmoor Road, Underdale Avenue
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed Road Between Bings Heath And The A53, Bings Heath
Date & Duration: 12th May 2025 for 1 day
Purpose: Road Closure - Severn Trent Water, boundary box install.
Alternative Route : Unnamed road South towards Ebrey Wood, Unnamed road North West, A53
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed Road between Brockton and Lower Down
Date & Duration: 14th May 2025 for 3 days
Purpose: Road Closure-National Grid-Dig and lay mains ducting in road. 49m trenching in tarmac road and grass verge and spoil storage.
Alternative Route : B4385, B4368, Gunridge
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed Road Between Church Pulverbatch and Stapleton
Date & Duration: 12th May 2025 for 1 day
Purpose: Road Closure - BT, road closure is required for pole test.
Alternative Route : Newhouse Lane, Shrewsbury Road, Unnamed road North East through Church Pulverbatch
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed Road between Lyons
Lane and Boreton
Date & Duration: 13th May 2025 for 1 day
Purpose: Road Closure - BT, road closure required for safe access for engineer to undertake pole test.
Alternative Route : Unnamed road North East through Boreton, Unnamed road North, Unnamed road West and South West
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed Road between Stanton Lacy and North Sutton
Date & Duration: 12th May 2025 for 1 day
Purpose: Road Closure-Severn Trent Water Bbox Install
Alternative Route : Unnamed road North East through North Sutton, Mill Lane, B4368, B4365, Unnamed road North
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed Road between Tilsop and Coreley
Date & Duration: 12th May 2025 for 1 day
Purpose: Road Closure-Openreach-Renew pole
Alternative Route : Unnamed road West, Unnamed road North, Unnamed road South East, Unnamed

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed road between Westhope and Harton
Date & Duration: 15th May 2025 between 09:00 to 15:00
Purpose: Road Closure-National Grid-Tree trimming - No excavation
Alternative Route : Unnamed road South West, Unnamed road North East, Unnamed road South East
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed road from Tetchill to Lower Hordley
Date & Duration: 14th May 2025 for 1 day between 09:30 to 15:30
Purpose: Road Closure - Safe pole testing.
Alternative Route : Unnamed road East towards Lee, Unnamed road South, Unnamed road North West
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed road south of Soudley, Cheswardine
Date & Duration: 13th May 2025 for 1 day between 09:30 to 15:30
Purpose: Road Closure - Replace decayed pole
Alternative Route : Unnamed road South, Unnamed road West through Oven Bottom towards Sambrook, Unnamed road North through Ellerton, Unnamed road North East towards Soudley
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed road, Woolston Bank
Date & Duration: 15th May 2025 for 1 day between 08:00 to 17:00
Purpose: Road Closure - Replacing electricity cable alongside the road.
Alternative Route : Unnamed road South, Unnamed road East, Unnamed road North East, Unnamed road North West towards Woolston Bank
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from turning right from Cross Street, Shrewsbury into Castle Foregate
Date & Duration: 12th May 2025 for 100 days
Purpose: Restriction of traffic movement in connection with ongoing works at Station Quarter
