(Various Roads and Footpaths, Badminton Area – Badminton Horse Trials)
(Temporary Traffic Regulation Order) 2025

Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has –

1. prohibited, temporarily, any vehicle proceeding in the lengths of road specified in column 1 of Schedule 1 to this notice from making a right turn onto the roads specified in column 2 of the said Schedule between the hours and on the dates specified in column 3 of the said Schedule. 

2. closed, temporarily, to vehicles, pedal cycles, pedestrians and equestrians Roaches Lane (LBA/3/10), Badminton from Slaits Road south westwards for 130m from 0600 hours on 7th May 2025 to 1800 hours on 11th May 2025.

3. closed, temporarily, to pedestrians Footpath LHA/109, Hawkesbury between Park Road and Cherry Orchard Lane between 0600 hours and 1800 hours on 10 May 2025.

4. instituted, temporarily, one way traffic working in the lengths of road specified in Column 1 of Schedule 2 to this notice in the direction indicated in relation to that length of road in Column 2 of the said Schedule, between the hours and on the dates specified in Column 3 of the said Schedule.

5. prohibited, temporarily, any motor vehicle from travelling at a speed exceeding 30 mph on the lengths of road specified in Schedule 3 to this notice between Midnight on 5 May 2025 and 2359 hours on 11 May 2025.

6. prohibited, temporarily, any motor vehicle from travelling at a speed exceeding 40 mph on the lengths of road specified in Schedule 4 to this notice between Midnight on 5 May 2025 and 2359 hours on 11 May 2025.

7. prohibited, temporarily, vehicles waiting at any time in the lengths and sides of road specified in Schedule 5 to this notice between 0600 hours and 1900 hours on any day between 7 May 2025 and 11 May 2025. Loading/ Unloading of goods from vehicles will be permitted.

This order is required in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon traffic congestion and other adverse traffic conditions created by the holding of the Badminton Horse Trials and will become operative from the 5 May 2025 between the hours and on the dates specified in this notice.

(Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles, Foot Passengers, Pedal Cycles and Equestrians) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has closed, temporarily, to vehicles, foot passengers, pedal cycles and equestrians that length of Thornbury Road (northbound only) which extends from A38 Gloucester Road to Down Road. 

This order was required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon Active Travel CRSTS works on or adjacent to the highway. 

The order became operative from 5 May 2025 for a maximum period of eighteen months. 

The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 8 months duration. 

Alternative route: A38 (northbound), Grovesend Road, Midland Way, B4061 (part unaffected).


(Court Road, Oldland Common)
(Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles, Pedal Cycles and Equestrians) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has closed, temporarily, to vehicles, pedal cycles and equestrians that length of Court Road which extends from Meadow Court Drive to California Road. 

This order was required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon gas main upgrade works on or adjacent to the highway. 

The order became operative from 6 May 2025 for a maximum period of eighteen months. 

The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 6 weeks duration. 

Alternative route: California Road, Shellards Road, Parkwall Road, Cadbury Heath Road, Tower Road South, Cowhorn Hill, West Street and vice versa.


(Eastland Avenue and Park View Avenue, Thornbury)
(Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has closed, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of road specified in the Schedule to this notice. 

This order was required for the following reason: in connection with gas main upgrade works. 

The order became operative from 6 May 2025 for a maximum period of eighteen months. 

The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 10 weeks duration. 

Schedule: Eastland Avenue – that length which extends from Eastland Road to North East Road; Park View Avenue – its entire length. 

Alternative route: Eastland Road, Severn View Road and vice versa.


(Filton Road, Hambrook) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has closed, temporarily, to vehicles that length of Filton Road which extends from a point 370m north west of Common Mead Lane north westwards for 320m. 

This order was required for the following reason: in connection with new storm water connection works. 

The order became operative from 6 May 2025 for a maximum period of eighteen months. 

The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of a 1 month duration. 

Alternative route: Old Gloucester Road, Frenchay Park Road, Stoke Lane, Cold Harbour Lane and vice versa.


(Ayford Lane, Marshfield) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has closed, temporarily, to vehicles that length of Ayford lane which extends from Ashwicke Road southwards for 700m. 

This order was required for the following reason: in connection with overhead telecom installation works. 

The order became operative from 8 May 2025 for a maximum period of eighteen months. 

The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of a 1 day duration, between 9:30am and 3:30pm. 

Alternative route: St Cathrine Lane, Leigh Lane, A46 Gloucester Road, A420 Chippenham Road, Ashwicke Road and vice versa.


(Little Stoke Lane, Little Stoke) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intends to make an order the effect of which will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles that length of Little Stoke Lane which extends from Gipsy Patch Lane northwards for 100m.

This order is required for the following reason: in connection with electrical and telecom installation works.

The order will be operative from 28 May 2025 for a maximum period of eighteen months. 

The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 2 days duration. 

Alternative route: Gipsy Patch Lane, Gloucester Road, Stoke Lane, Little Stoke Lane.


(Engine Common Lane, Yate) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intends to make an order the effect of which will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles that length of Engine Common Lane which extends from a point 90m north of Broad Lane northwards for 80m. 

This order is required for the following reason: in connection with pole replacement works. 

The order will be operative from 29 May 2025 for a maximum period of eighteen months. 

The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 2 days duration, between 9:30am and 3:30pm. 

Alternative route: Engine Common Lane (parts unaffected), Tanhouse Lane, North Road, Broad Lane and vice versa.


(Clyde Road, Frampton Cotterell) Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intends to make an order the effect of which will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles that length of Clyde Road which extends from Ryecroft Road to Goose Green. 

This order is required for the following reason: in connection with pole testing works. 

The order will be operative from 29 May 2025 for a maximum period of eighteen months. 

The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of a 1 day duration, between 9:30am and 3:30pm. Alternative route: Ryecroft Road, Goose Green and vice versa.


(Rookery Lane, Pilning) (20 mph Speed Limit) Order 202(-)

Details of the proposed changes
NOTICE is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council proposes to make an order under sections 84(1) and (2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended the effect of which will be to prohibit the driving of motor vehicles at a speed exceeding 20 miles per hour in lengths of Rookery Lane, Pilning. Full details of the proposal are contained in the draft order.
