What is happening?
HERTFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL:
(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF PRIORY STREET, WARE) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Priory Street, Ware from a point 49m north west of its junction with Mill Close south westwards to its junction with Maplethorpe Court, a distance of approximately 53m (“the Road”).
An alternative route will be via Priory Street, A1170 Baldock Street, B1001 Watton Road, Park Road, Harriss Lane and Priory Street.
The Order is needed because utility service connection works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 22 May 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF GASCOYNE WAY SERVICE ROAD, HERTFORD) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Gascoyne Way Service Road, Hertford from a point 30m north east of its westernmost junction with A414 Gascoyne Way north eastwards for a distance of approximately 30m (“the Road”).
There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.
The Order is needed because electrical connection works are proposed to be executed near the Road.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 19 May 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF B1038 (UNNAMED ROAD), BUNTINGFORD) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of B1038 (unnamed road), Buntingford from a point 35m north east of its junction with B1368 (unnamed road) north eastwards for a distance of approximately 80m (“the Road”).
An alternative route will be via B1038 (unnamed road), B1368 (unnamed road/ Dassels Hill/ Dassels/Hay Street/Green End/Station Road/Wickham Hill/ Buntingford Road), A10 Puckeridge Bypass, A120 (Standon Hill/Kents Lane/ Stortford Road/Standon Road/Little Hadham Bypass/Hadham Road), A1250 (Hadham Road/Link Road), B1004 (Northgate End/Rye Street/Michaels Road), B1383 (Stanstead Road/Pines Hill/Silver Street/Cambridge Road/London Road/ unnamed road/London Road/High Street) and B1038 (Wicken Road/unnamed road/Clatterbury Lane/High Street/Pump Hill/Conduit Lane/unnamed road).
The Order is needed because electrical works are proposed to be executed near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING AND TEMPORARY WAITING RESTRICTIONS IN FANHAMS HALL ROAD, WARE/WARESIDE) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Fanhams Hall Road, Ware/Wareside from its junction with 3U151 (unnamed road) north eastwards, south westwards, north westwards, south westwards and north westwards to its junction with High Oaks Road, a distance of approximately 3567m (“the Road”), except for access.
An alternative route will be via Fanhams Hall Road, C41 (unnamed road), 3U157 (unnamed road), 3U158 (unnamed road), B1004 (Ware Road/Widbury Hill/Star Street), A1170 (High Road/Baldock Street), The Bourne, Collett Road and High Oaks Road.
ADDITIONALLY all vehicles are prohibited from waiting at any time on both sides of this length of the Road whilst works are in progress.
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 19 May 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF VICARAGE ROAD, WARE) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Vicarage Road, Ware from its junction with Bowling Road south eastwards and south westwards to its junction with B1004 Star Street, a distance of approximately 340m (“the Road”), except for access.
An alternative route will be via Bowling Road and B1004 Star Street.
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 20 May 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF CALTON AVENUE, HERTFORD) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Calton Avenue, Hertford from its junction with Edmunds Road south eastwards to its junction with Windsor Drive, a distance of approximately 319m (“the Road”).
An alternative route will be via Calton Avenue, Bentley Road and Windsor Drive.
The Order is needed because the replacement of an existing utility cover is proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 21 May 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF VARIOUS ROADS IN STANSTEAD ABBOTTS, DANE END, GREAT HORMEAD, BRICKENDON AND BRAUGHING) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”), except for access:-
1. that length of Lawrence Avenue, Stanstead Abbotts from its junction with B181 High Street south eastwards, north eastwards, south eastwards, south westwards, south eastwards, south westwards, south eastwards, north westwards and south westwards for its entire length.
There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.
2. that length of Whitehill, Dane End from its junction with Munden Road south eastwards to its junction with Potters Green, a distance of approximately 1661m.
An alternative route will be via Munden Road, Sacombe Pound, A602 Tonwell Bypass, Anchor Lane, Cambridge Road, High Road, Ermine Street, Standon Green End and Potters Green.
3. that length of Willow Close, Great Hormead from its junction with Horseshoe Hill south eastwards and clockwise for its entire length.
There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.
4. that length of Pembridge Lane, Brickendon from its junction with Brickendon Green south westwards, south eastwards and north eastwards for a distance of approximately 1522m.
An alternative route will be via Brickendon Lane, B158 (Horns Mill Road/ Lower Hatfield Road), Robins Nest Hill, Church Road, C54 (unnamed road), White Stubbs Lane and Pembridge Lane.
5. that length of The Street, Braughing from its junction with Ford Street north eastwards, north westwards and north eastwards to its junction with Gravelly Lane, a distance of approximately 688m.
An alternative route will be via Malting Lane, B1368 Green End and Gravelly Lane.
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 8 May 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF B158 CASTLE STREET, HERTFORD) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the northbound carriageway of B158 Castle Street, Hertford from its junction with Queens Road north eastwards to its junction with Millers Yard, a distance of approximately 26m (“the Road”), except for access.
An alternative route will be via B158 Castle Street, A414 (Gascoyne Way/ Hertingfordbury Road), A119 Cross Lane, North Road, St Andrew Street and B158 (Mill Bridge/The Wash/Parliament Square/Castle Street).
The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 7 May 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF BUCKS ALLEY, ESSENDON/BAYFORD) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Bucks Alley, Essendon/Bayford from its junction with Robins Nest Hill south eastwards and north eastwards to its junctions with Ashendene Road, a distance of approximately 1293m (“the Road”), except for access.
An alternative route will be via Robins Nest Hill, Church Road, C54 (unnamed road), White Stubbs Lane and Ashendene Road.
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 5 May 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING AND TEMPORARY WAITING RESTRICTIONS IN GRENADINE CLOSE AND RENNISON CLOSE, CHESHUNT) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”), except for access and to prohibit all vehicles from waiting at any time on both sides of these lengths of Roads whilst works are in progress:-
1. that length of Grenadine Close, Cheshunt from its junction with Allwood Road south westwards for its entire length.
There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Rosedale Way, Cheshunt from a point 37m east of its junction with Rose Court Rosedale eastwards and south eastwards to its junction with the Rosedale Way roundabout, a distance of approximately 25m (“the Road”), except for access.
An alternative route will be via Rosedale Way.
The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF VARIOUS FOOTPATHS AND PUBLIC FOOTPATHS IN CHESHUNT) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all pedestrians from using the following lengths of footpath (“the Footpaths”) and public footpaths (“Public Footpaths”):-
1. the footpath situated to the rear of Nos.5-12 Allwood Road, Cheshunt from its junction with Allwood Road north eastwards, north westwards and south westwards for a distance of approximately 259m.
An alternative route will be via the footway situated on the east side of Allwood Road, the footway situated on the north side of Rennison Close and the footpath situated on the west side of No.12 Rennison Close.
2. the footpath situated on the east side of Nos.132-135 Bushbarns, Cheshunt from its junction with Bushbarns north eastwards, north westwards, south westwards, north westwards, westwards, south eastwards, north eastwards and south eastwards, a distance of approximately 142m.
An alternative route will be via the footway situated on the north side of Bushbarns.
3. the footpath fronting Nos.38-45 Harkness, Cheshunt from its junction with Rosedale Way north eastwards for a distance of approximately 58m.
An alternative route will be via the footway situated on the north side of Rosedale Way, the footpath fronting Nos.14-21 Harkness and the footpath fronting Nos.22-29 Harkness.
4. the footpath fronting Nos.14-21 Harkness, Cheshunt from its junction with Rosedale Way north eastwards for a distance of approximately 58m.
An alternative route will be via the footway situated on the north side of Rosedale Way, the footpath fronting Nos.38-45 Harkness and the footpath fronting Nos.22-29 Harkness.
5. the footpath situated between No.1 and No.21 McGredy, Cheshunt from its junction with Rosedale Way south westwards and south eastwards for a distance of approximately 108m.
An alternative route will be via the footway situated on the south side of Rosedale Way, the footpath situated between No.22 and No.36 McGredy and the footpath situated on the south side of No.12 and No.29 McGredy.
6. the footpath situated between No.22 and No.36 McGredy, Cheshunt from its junction with Rosedale Way south westwards, south eastwards and north westwards for a distance of approximately 115m.
An alternative route will be via the footway on the south side of Rosedale Way, the footpath situated between No.1 and No.21 McGredy and the footpath situated on the south side of No.12 and No.29 McGredy.
7. that length of Cheshunt Public Footpath No.040 from its junction with Rags Lane north westwards and north eastwards to its junction with Hammondstreet Road, a distance of approximately 278m.
An alternative route will be via the footway on the north side of Rags Lane, Cheshunt Public Footpath No.039 and the footway on the south side of Hammondstreet Road.
8. that length of Cheshunt Public Footpath No.058 from its junction with B156 Goffs Lane north eastwards, north westwards and north eastwards to its junction with Cheshunt Public Footpath No.067, a distance of approximately 332m.
An alternative route will be via the footway on the north side of B156 Goffs Lane, the footpath situated on the east side of Nos.31-44 Cussons Close and the footpath situated on the north side of Nos.33-44 Glamis Close.
9. the footpath situated on the south side of No.105 Elderbeck Close, Cheshunt from its junction with Cheshunt Public Footpath No.058 south westwards to its junction with Rosedale Way, a distance of approximately 30m.
An alternative route will be via Cheshunt Public Footpath No.058 and the footway situated on the north side of Rosedale Way.
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Footpaths and Public Footpaths.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 5 May 2025 for a period of up to 6 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Footpaths and Public Footpaths.

THE HERTFORDSHIRE (FARNHAM ROAD, CORN ROAD AND HAMPTON WAY, BISHOP’S STORTFORD) (RESTRICTION OF WAITING) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is given that the Hertfordshire County Council in order to improve road safety proposes under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to introduce new waiting restrictions in parts of Bishop’s Stortford as specified in the Schedule to this Notice.
Documents giving more detailed particulars of the proposals may be viewed from 1 May 2025 during office hours, at Main Reception, County Hall, Hertford, or on-line at www.hertfordshire.gov.uk/trafficorders by selecting East Herts and looking at Ref: EH00425.
