What is happening?
KIRKLEES COUNCIL
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14
(FOOTPATHS DEW/112/10 & DEW/112/20 WOOD LANE, DEWSBURY)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF USE) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the Borough of Kirklees by
reason of works proposed to be carried out on or near the footpath have made an Order the effect of which will be that no person shall proceed in that length of Footpaths DEW/112/10 & DEW/112/20
Wood Lane, Dewsbury from Bradford Road (A652) to Crackenedge Lane
PROVIDED THAT such prohibition shall not extend to persons carrying out
the proposed works.
Pedestrian access will not be maintained at all times.
Alternative routes for persons affected by the closure will be available via
Bradford Road, Jack Lane, Peter Hill, Commonside, Crackenedge Lane and
vice versa.
It is intended that the closure will commence on Thursday 8 May 2025 and remain in force until 1 August 2025 (although it can remain in force for any
period up to 6 months if necessary).
(UNION STREET, DEWSBURY)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the Borough of Kirklees by
reason of works proposed to be carried out on or near the road has made an
Order the effect of which will be that no person shall cause or permit any vehicle to proceed in that length of Union Street, Dewsbury from its junction with Market Street to its junction with Daisy Hill PROVIDED THAT such prohibition shall not extend to vehicles being used in connection with the works to be carried out on or near the closed length of road or to vehicles requiring access up to the point(s) of the closure.
Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.
Alternative routes for vehicles affected by the closure will be available via Market Street, Westgate, Church Street, School Street, Daisy Hill, Oates Street, Union Street - clockwise only from Market Street.
It is intended that the closure will commence on Tuesday 6 May 2025
and remain in force until 6 July 2025 (although it can remain in force for any
period up to 18 months if necessary).
(BRIESTFIELD ROAD, BRIESTFIELD, DEWSBURY)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) (NO 2) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the Borough of Kirklees by
reason of works proposed to be carried out on or near the road has made an
Order the effect of which will be that no person shall cause or permit any vehicle to proceed in that length of Briestfield Road, Dewsbury from its junction with Carr Lane to approximately 50 metres on Briestfield Road PROVIDED THAT such prohibition shall not extend to vehicles being used in connection with the works to be carried out on or near the closed length of road or to vehicles requiring access up to the point(s) of the closure.
Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.
Alternative routes for vehicles affected by the closure will be available via
Briestfield Road, Back Lane, Pearson’s Lane, Fixby Lane, Falhouse Lane,
Whitley Road.
It is intended that the closure will commence on Tuesday 6 May 2025 and remain in force until 7 May 2025 (although it can remain in force for any
period up to 18 months if necessary).
(STONEFIELD STREET, DEWSBURY)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the Borough of Kirklees by
reason of works proposed to be carried out on or near the road has made an Order the effect of which will be that no person shall cause or permit any vehicle to proceed in that length of Stonefield Street, Dewsbury from its junction with Halifax Road to its junction with Hope Street PROVIDED THAT such prohibition shall not extend to vehicles being used in connection with the works to be carried out on or near the closed length of road or to vehicles requiring access up to the point(s) of the closure.
Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.
Alternative routes for vehicles affected by the closure will be available via Halifax Road, Dewsbury Ring Road, Bradford Road, Mill Road, Meadow Lane, Hartley Street, Tolson Street and vice versa.
Diversion 2 - Halifax Road, Upper Road, Mill Road, Meadow Lane, Hartley Street, Tolson Street and vice versa.
It is intended that the closure will commence on Tuesday 6 May 2025
09:30 and remain in force until 15 June 2025 18:00 (although it can remain in
force for any period up to 18 months if necessary).
(LOWER LANE, CLECKHEATON)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the Borough of Kirklees by reason of works proposed to be carried out on or near the road intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be that no person shall cause or permit any vehicle to proceed in that length of Lower Lane, Cleckheaton from a point outside property no. 13 Lower Lane to a point outside property no. 58 Lower Lane PROVIDED THAT such prohibition shall not extend to vehicles being used in connection with the works to be carried out on or near the closed length of road or to vehicles requiring access up to the point(s) of the closure.
Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.
Alternative routes for vehicles affected by the closure will be available via Lower Lane, Upper Lane, Quarry Road and vice versa.
It is intended that the closure will commence on Monday 19 May 2025
08:00 and remain in force until 13 June 2025 18:00 (although it can remain in
force for any period up to 18 months if necessary).
(FOOTPATH BAT/43/60, BATLEY)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF USE) ORDER 2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the Borough of Kirklees by
reason of works proposed to be carried out on or near the footpath has made an Order the effect of which will be that no person shall proceed in that length of Footpath BAT/43/60, Batley from its junction with Footpath BAT/43/70 off Lydgate Road to a point outside Footpath BAT/43/60 near Highfield Court PROVIDED THAT such prohibition shall not extend to persons carrying out the proposed works.
Pedestrian access will not be maintained at all times.
Footpath BAT/43/80 will have gated entry/exit point that will be manned
through the working hours then on a night it will be fenced so the public can
use it but would not be able to enter Keepmoat site.
Alternative routes for persons affected by the closure will be available via Footpath BAT/43/60, footpath BAT/67/10, Soothill Lane, Lydgate Road, footpath BAT/43/70 and vice versa.
The closure which came into operation on 4 November 2024 has been extended with permission of the Secretary of State for Transport to remain in force for a further period until 6 November 2025
(Any further extension will again require the permission of the Secretary of State).
