(DEWSBURY ROAD INBOUND BUS LANE, WAKEFIELD)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC
& TEMPORARY BUS LANE SUSPENSION)
ORDER (NO 93) 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield has made an Order on traffic management grounds for ground works preparation to install a new telecoms mast to be carried out as follows:-
ROADS TO BE CLOSED: Dewsbury Road, Wakefield inbound bus lane between the VW and BMW car garages. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed lengths of Dewsbury Road inbound bus lane.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: The footway will be closed on both occasions and pedestrians will be diverted via the existing pedestrian crossings either side of the planned works area.
ORDER TO BE TEMPORARILY REVOKED: The Council of the City of Wakefield (Traffic Regulation) No. 2 Order 2016 Dewsbury Road, Wakefield where it relates to the inbound bus lane on Dewsbury Road, Wakefield.
PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 6th May 2025 to 9th May 2025 between 09.30 hours to 17.30 hours and again on 19th May 2025 to 21st May 2025 between 09.30 hours and 17.30 hours or until completion of the work, whichever is soonest. Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield has made an Order on traffic management grounds for new electrical connection to be carried out as follows:-
ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Walnut Crescent, Wakefield for approximately 70 metres. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Walnut Crescent.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: Walker Avenue, Peacock Avenue, Walnut Avenue & vice versa.
PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 5th May 2025 to 6th May 2025, or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.
Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield has made an Order on traffic management grounds to excavate & locate cable, joint new cable & reinstate excavations to be carried out as follows:-
ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Beech Avenue, Wakefield for approximately 50 metres. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Beech Avenue.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: Beech Avenue, Peacock Avenue, Sycamore Avenue, Meadow Lane, Beech Avenue & vice versa.
PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 7th May 2025 to 15th May 2025, or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.

ORDER (NO 101) 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield has made an Order on traffic management grounds for new electrical connection to be carried out as follows:-
ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Wood Street, Wakefield for approximately 150 metres. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Wood Street.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: Cross Street, Northgate, Rishworth Street, Wood Street & vice versa.
ORDER TO BE TEMPORARILY REVOKED: WYMCC (Wakefield) (TR) (No. 35) Order 1975 where it relates to the One Way restriction on Cross Street.
PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 6th May 2025 to 16th May 2025, or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.
Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield intend to make an Order on traffic management grounds for verge hardening & footway surfacing to be carried out as follows:
ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Brotherton Road, Wakefield from Greenwood Road to Watson Crescent. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Brotherton Road.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: Watson Crescent, Woodhouse Road, Greenwood Road & vice versa.
PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 19th May 2025 to 9th July 2025, or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.
Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield intend to make an Order on traffic management grounds to excavate to install telecoms duct to link into existing telecoms apparatus as part of the fibre to the home scheme to be carried out as follows:-
ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Keeper Lane, Notton for approximately 850 metres. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Keeper Lane.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: Barnsley Road, George Lane & vice versa.
PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 19th May 2025 at 08.00 hours to 21st May 2025 at 18.00 hours, or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.
Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.

ORDER (NO 118) 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield intend to make an Order on traffic management grounds to repair & replace damaged telecom ducting to be carried out as follows:-
ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Slack Lane, Newmillerdam from Barnsley Road to number 70. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Slack Lane.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: No diversion, road will be controlled by traffic marshalls and vehicular access will be controlled but maintained.
PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 19th May 2025 to 21st May 2025 08.00 hours to 18.00 hours, clear all other times, or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.
Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.
(BALNE LANE, WAKEFIELD)

ORDER (NO 120) 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield intend to make an Order on traffic management grounds for urgent tree removal works on the railway embankment being undertaken by Network Rail to be carried out as follows:-
ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Balne Lane, Wakefield between Earnshaw Place and Cliff Park Road. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Balne Lane.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: East to West – Burton Street, Bell Street, Bond Street, Wentworth Terrace, A61 Leeds Road, Rishworth Street, Bond Terrace, Cliff Parade, Back Lane, Westgate, Westgate End, Alverthorpe Road.
West to East – Alverthorpe Road, Westgate End, Westgate, Mulberry Way.
PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 19th May 2025 at 09.30 hours to 15.30 hours, or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner. Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.
(PUGNEYS ROAD, WAKEFIELD)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 71) 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield has made an Order on traffic management grounds to allow verge and footway reconstruction to be carried out as follows:
ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Pugneys Road from its junction with Clifford Avenue to its junction with Portobello Road. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Pugneys Road.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: Clifford Avenue, Warren Avenue, Portobello Road and vice versa
PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 31st March 2025 at 07:30 hours until 12th May 2025 at 15:30 hours, or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.
The closure was originally in force until the 2nd May 2025, however it has become necessary to extend it until the 12th May 2025 as above.
Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.
(WATSON CRESCENT, WAKEFIELD)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC)
ORDER (NO 75) 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield has made an Order on traffic management grounds for verge hardening and footway surfacing works to be carried out as follows:
ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Watson Crescent, Wakefield from Shepley Street to Woodhouse Road. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Watson Crescent.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: Watson Crescent, Shepley Street, Greenwood Road, Woodhouse Road, Watson Crescent & vice versa.
PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 31st March 2025 to 12th May 2025, or until completion of the work, whichever is soonest.
The closure was originally due to be in force until the 2nd May 2025, however it has become necessary to extend it until the 12th May 2025 as above.
