C164 Hoscar Moss Road - Temporary Prohibition Of Through Traffic For Rail Changing And A Technical Inspection Of The Level Crossing

What is happening?

LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(C164 HOSCAR MOSS ROAD, IVY HOUSE FARM, LATHOM, WEST LANCASHIRE BOROUGH) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council intend to make an Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this notice.

1. No person shall cause any motor vehicle to proceed over that length of Hoscar Moss Road, Ivy House Farm (Lathom) from the northeastern boundary of the property named Rose View to the northeastern boundary of the property named Green Pastures.

2. Nothing in this order shall apply to persons engaged in the carrying out of the works.

3. The prohibition will be operative from 0025 hours until 0700 hours on Sunday 11th May 2025 or until completion of the works within this period. Access for emergency services will be maintained at all times.

4. Vehicular access for residents will be maintained whenever and wherever possible. Pedestrian access to properties will always be maintained.

5. An alternative route for vehicular traffic affected by the closure is via:- C164 Hoscar Moss Road, Ivy House Farm – C164 Wanes Blades Road, Lathom – C164 Mains Lane, Bispham – B5246 Hall Lane, Bispham – B5246 Robin Lane, Bispham – B5246 Robin Lane, Hilldale – B5246 Chorley Road, Hilldale – B5246 Chorley Road, Parbold – B5246 Lancaster Lane, Parbold – A5209 Alder Lane, Parbold – A5209 Ash Brow, Newbrugh – A5209 Course Lane, Newburgh – A5209 Lowry Hill Lane, Lathom – A5209 Briars Lane, Lathom – C164 Ring O Bells Lane, Lathom and vice versa.

The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow rail changing and a technical inspection of the level crossing to be carried out by Centurion Traffic Management in conjunction with Network Rail.
