The City Of Manchester - Temporary Prohibition Of Vehicular Traffic For Sewer Repairs

What is happening?

MANCHESTER CITY COUNCIL TEMPORARY ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 14 (AS AMENDED)

Notice is hereby given that the City Council has made the following Temporary Road Traffic Order(s): 
ORDER NO. MCC142973711: The City of Manchester (Burton Road, Didsbury West Ward)(Temporary Prohibition of Vehicular Traffic) Order 2025 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order is to prohibit vehicular traffic on Burton Road. The alternative routes for traffic will be: Lapwing Lane, Palatine Road, Barlow Moor Road, Burton Road vice versa. The City Council is satisfied that this prohibition is necessary in order to facilitate sewer repairs. It is expected that the works will be in progress on the 4th May 2025 between the hours of 08:00 and 16:00. The order shall come into operation on the 4th May 2025 and may remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period. 

ORDER NO. MCC143000717: The City of Manchester (York St, Crane St, Princess St, Travis St & Baring St, Deansgate & Piccadilly Ward)(Temporary Prohibition of Vehicular Traffic) Order 2025 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order is to prohibit vehicular traffic on York Street from Milk St to Fountain St, on Crane St from Chapelfield Rd to Fairfield St, on Princess St from Charles St to Brancaster Rd, on Travis St from Fairfield St to Wyre St & on Baring St from Fairfield St to Travis St. The alternative routes for traffic will be: signed locally. The City Council is satisfied that this prohibition is necessary in order to facilitate resurfacing works. It is expected that the works will be in progress from 4th May 2025 to 11th May 2025 (Sundays Only). The order shall come into operation on 4th May 2025 and may remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period.
