What is happening?

WEST NORTHAMPTONSHIRE COUNCIL

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTION 14.1B

(VARIOUS ROADS, SILVERSTONE)

(TEMPORARY ONE-WAY SYSTEM; PROHIBITION OF WAITING, LOADING & UNLOADING AT ANY TIME) (EXCLUDING LAYBYS) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that West Northamptonshire Council intend, not less than seven days from the date of this Notice, to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit traffic from waiting, loading and unloading at any time (excluding laybys) and introduce a temporary one-way system to those roads specified in the Schedule below.

REASON FOR RESTRICTION: The restriction is required for safety during the MotoGP event at Silverstone Circuit.

PERIOD OF CLOSURE: The proposed Order will come into effect on 23rd May 2025 and will continue in force for a period of three days. An application may be made for the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport for the Order to be extended if this proves necessary. However, the restriction specified will have effect only at such times and to such an extent as is indicated by the display of signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.

EXPECTED DURATION: It is expected that the roads will be restricted for three days.

ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: as specified in the Schedule.

Termination Points Parking Restriction: High Street – its entire length. Brackley Road – from A43 eastbound exit slip to Towcester Road. Contraflow extents: – Dadford Road – from A413 Brackley Road to county boundary.

Contraflow Alternative Route:- use A43, A5, A422
