What is happening?

MANCHESTER CITY COUNCIL TEMPORARY ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 14 (AS AMENDED)

Notice is hereby given that the City Council has made the following Temporary Road Traffic Order(s):
ORDER NO. MCC142876099: The City of Manchester (Little Lever Street, Piccadilly Ward)(Temporary Prohibition of Vehicular Traffic) Order 2025 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order is to restrict traffic on Little Lever Street between Bunsen Street and Stevenson Square. The alternative routes for traffic will be: Dale Street, Newton Street, Hilton Street & Faraday Street, Newton Street, Back Piccadilly, Lever Street, Dale Street. The City Council is satisfied that this prohibition is necessary in order to facilitate a crane. It is expected that the works will be in progress on 4th May 2025 with a back-up date of 11th May 2025. The order shall come into operation on 4th May 2025 and may remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period.
