What is happening?

VARIATION OF CHARGES FOR BUSINESS PARKING PERMITS (APRIL 2025)

NOTICE is given by the Oxfordshire County Council (the “Council”) pursuant to Section 46A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and Section 25 of the Local Authorities Traffic Orders (Procedure) (England and Wales) Regulations 1996, that charges for residents parking permits be varied.

Each of the Parking Orders for Oxford City and North Hinksey (Controlled Parking Zones), South Oxfordshire District, Cherwell District Council, The Vale of White Horse District, and West Oxfordshire District have fees increased in accordance with the below tables.

The revised charges are in line with the approved budgets set at Cabinet in January 2024, and come into effect on 1 April 2025:

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTION 14

Notice of Temporary Traffic Order

Witney, Downs Road

Prohibition of Through Traffic

Date of Order: 16 April 2025

Coming into force: 6 May 2025

This Order is being introduced because of water infrastructure improvement works which are anticipated to take till 30 May to complete.

The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit any vehicle proceeding in the whole length of Downs Road.

Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force. Exemptions are included for emergency vehicles, and for access to properties and for the works.

The alternative route for traffic is via the locally signed diversion route.

This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner. (Ref: T15334/RAS)

Notice of Temporary Traffic Order

Stonesfield, Witney Lane

Prohibition of Through Traffic

Date of Order: 12 May 2025

Coming into force: 23 May 2025

This Order is being introduced for the laying of 500 metres of ducting for fibre cabling works which are anticipated to be completed in June 2025.

The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit any vehicle proceeding in Witney Lane from the junction of Laughton Hill to outside Spartas Farm. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force. Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the works and for access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of road.

The alternative route for traffic is via the locally signed diversion route.

This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner. (Ref: T15358/RAG)

Notice of Temporary Traffic Order

Freeland, Pigeon House Lane

Prohibition of Through Traffic

Date of Order: 28 April 2025

Coming into force: 6 May 2025

This Order is being introduced because of fibre cable ducting works which are anticipated to be completed 14 May 2025.

The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit any vehicle proceeding in the section of Pigeon House Lane between Pigeon W. Jn and Hudden Road. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force. Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the works and for access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of road. The alternative route for traffic is via the locally signed diversion route.

This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner. (Ref: T15338/RAG)
