Suffolk, Multiple Roads, Temporary Closures Due To Various Works

What is happening?

SUFFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984: SECTION 14

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE U5819 WEST HALL ROAD, WALSHAM LE WILLOWS

Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the U5819 West Hall Road, Walsham le Willows from the junction with U5818 Walsham Road for 200 metres northbound to facilitate the replacement of telecommunication infrastructure.

Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be West Hall Road, Rickinghall Road, B1113 and Back Lane.

It is intended that the closure will operate on 01/05/2025 from 9am - 4pm; however, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF THE C680 BREDFIELD ROAD, COOKS ROAD AND MILL ROAD, BROCKLEY, SOMERTON AND HARTEST

Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the following roads:

  • C680 Bredfield Road, Brockley

  • C680 Cooks Road, Somerton

  • C680 Mill Road, Hartest

This is to facilitate overlay of communications infrastructure.

Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be the C680, B1066, The Green Road, Lower Green, School Hill, Hartest Hill, Somerton Road, Brockley Road, Plovers Hill, Chapel Green, The Green, Ride Estate, The Green and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate on 01/05/2025 to 03/05/2025 from 8am until 6pm each day; however, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE A144 HALESWORTH ROAD, WEYBREAD WITH MELLIS HAMLET

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the A144 Halesworth Road, Weybread with Mellis Hamlet from the junction with Earlsford Road for 225 metres southbound and 100 metres northbound to facilitate access for new retaining unit track. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be the A145, A146, the A143, the A144 and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 11pm on 17/05/2025 to 3am on 18/05/2025 (or longer if necessary); the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE C744 BURTON END, HAVERHILL

Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the C744 Burton End, Haverhill from School Lane to Crowland Road to facilitate carriageway repairs. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be the C744, C711, High Street, Wratting Road, Mill Hill and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 06/05/2025 - 11/05/2025 from 9.15am - 3.15pm each day; however, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE A137 CHANCERY ROAD, WEST END ROAD

AND B1075 PRINCES STREET, IPSWICH

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the:

  • A137 Chancery Road, Ipswich from Princes Street to West End Road

  • A137 West End Road, Ipswich from Chancery Road for 127 metres westbound

  • B1075 Princes Street, Ipswich from Burrell Road to Civic Drive

This is to facilitate disorder prevention and crowd safety during the football game. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Burrell Road, Stoke Street, Bridge Street, Greyfriars Road, Franciscan Way, Civic Drive, Chancery Road, Ranelagh Road and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate on 10/05/2025 from 4pm - 6pm; however, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).
