Egremont and Haile - Multiple Temporary Road Closures due to Utility Works

What is happening?

CUMBERLAND COUNCIL

(ST BRIDGET’S LANE AND C4013 NURSERY ROAD, EGREMONT AND U4041 HAILE) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION)

ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable utility works to be carried out (“the Works”), Cumberland Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the following sections of road:

  1. St Bridget’s Lane, Egremont, from its junction with Castle Villas, extending in a north westerly direction for approx. 60m.

    Alternative Route: via the unrestricted section of St Bridget’s Lane, Nelson Square, Central Avenue and Castle Villas.

    Duration: From 20 May 2025 for approx. 1 day between 0930 and 1530 hours (Ref: TTROC/14362)

  2. U4041 Haile, from its junction with the C4016, extending in a north easterly direction for approx. 170m.

    Alternative Route: via the unrestricted section of the U4041, C4016 and U4040.

    Duration: From 21 May 2025 for approx. 1 day between 0930 and 1530 hours (Ref: TTROC/14416)

  3. C4013 Nursery Road, Egremont, from its junction with the A595, extending in a south westerly direction for approx. 180m.

    Alternative Route: via the unrestricted section of Nursery Road, C4014, Mill Lane Beckermet and the A595.

    Duration: From 9 June 2025 for approx. 1 day between 0930 and 1530 hours (Ref: TTROC/14420)

    A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.

The Order will come into operation on 20 May 2025 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required as detailed above, and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
