U4022, Keekle - Temporary Road Closure due to Highway Works
What is happening?

(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable highway works to be carried out (“the Works”), Cumberland Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along that section of the U4022 near Keekle, from a point approx. 1.08km east of its junction with the B5295, extending in an easterly direction for approx. 230m.
A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times and a suitable alternative route for vehicles will be signed and available via the unrestricted sections of the U4022, Mill Street, Frizington, A5086, B5294, Bowthorn Road, Whitehaven Road and the B5295.

The Order will come into operation on 19 May 2025 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restriction will only be required for 2 weeks and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
