What is happening?

THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH COUNCIL OF STOCKPORT(MERSEY ROAD, HEATON MERSEY) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) NOTICE 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Metropolitan Borough Council of Stockport proposes to make an Order not less than 7 days from the date of this Notice under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, the effect of which will be to introduce a Temporary Prohibition of Driving at Mersey Road at the junction of Didsbury Road whilst traffic signs to that effect are in place on or near the said road.

This Order is necessary to allow manhole frame and cover replacement works to take place.

It is anticipated that the maximum duration of the works will be 1 day. Alternative routes will be provided via Didsbury Road, Cavendish Road, Thornhill Road and vice versa.

This Order is to come into operation on the 20 May 2025 and will have effect for eighteen months, provided that if all necessary works are completed within a shorter period this Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period. Ref: ZA/8222240.
