What is happening?

(Footpath 22 South Benfleet)
(Temporary Prohibition of Use) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the above Order made by Essex County Council, under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (As amended), has been continued in force with the consent of the Secretary of State for the Department for Transport until 28 December 2026.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close Footpath 22, South Benfleet in the Borough of Castle Point, from a point 9 metres either side of the centre of the level crossing.
There will be two Alternative routes available
Diversion 1: Footpath 22, Bridleway 60, Station Road Footway, Footpath 75, Ferry Road Footway and vice versa.
Diversion 2: Bridleway 60, Footpath 12, Footpath 31 and vice versa.

The Order came into effect on 28 October 2024 and is required for the safety of the public due to insufficient sighting for approaching trains is not available to the members of the public, particularly vulnerable users, there have been near misses with elderly and children recorded at this crossing. Works are planned to be completed by the end of November 2026.
(Burnt Mills Road, Pitsea)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Burnt Mills Road, Pitsea in the Borough of Basildon, from its junction with Great Leighs Way to its junction with Thomasin Road a distance of approximately 295m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 19th May 2025 for 2 nights (19:00–05:00), or where stated on a valid permit (EP02231012724 – Palmer (Fencing) Ltd). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while carriageway resurfacing works are undertaken by Palmer (Fencing) Ltd.
An alternative route is available via Burnt Mills Road, Davenants, Lanham's, Rushley and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 1st May 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Long Meadow Drive, Wickford)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Long Meadow Drive, Wickford in the Borough of Basildon, from its junction with Franklins Way to its junction with Meadow Court a distance of approximately 200m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 21st May 2025 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (BC008WFSTLT5VL2CSB – Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while duct laying and pole testing works are undertaken by Openreach.
An alternative route is available via Long Meadow Drive and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 1st May 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Outwood Common Road, Billericay)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Outwood Common Road, Billericay in the Borough of Basildon, from its junction with Mount View for a distance of approximately 60m in a south westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 20th May 2025 for 22 days, or where stated on a valid permit (AZ5021001421872 – Cadent). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while mains replacement works are undertaken by Cadent.
An alternative route is available via Outwood Common Road, Hillway, Meadow Rise, Jacksons Lane, Norsey Road and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 1st May 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Labworth Road, Canvey Island)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic & Temporary Introduction of a Clearway) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
To temporarily close that length of Labworth Road, Canvey Island in the Borough of Castle Point, from its junction with Furtherwick Road to its junction with Atherstone Road a distance of approximately 585m.
To temporarily introduce a ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping’ in the above length of road for the duration of the closure only.
“The Essex County Council (Castle Point Borough) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019” will be temporarily amended to include the temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping at Any Time’ restriction and suspend any existing parking and waiting restrictions on the above lengths of roads only. All other restrictions and exemptions contained in the aforementioned Order and Amendments to that Order shall remain in force.
The closure/clearway is scheduled to commence on 6th May 2025 for 7 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2383980 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure/clearway is required for the safety of the public and workforce while drainage survey and jetting works are undertaken by Essex County Council.
An alternative route is available via Furtherwick Road, Atherstone Road, Meynell Avenue, Grafton Road and vice versa.
The Order came into effect on 17th April 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Mayfield Avenue, Hullbridge)
(Temporary Introduction of a Clearway) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
A temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping’ restriction will be introduced on both sides of the carriageway as per the schedule to facilitate the works. Signs will be installed indicating when the No Waiting restriction will be in force.
“The Essex County Council (Rochford District) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019” will be temporarily amended to include the temporary ‘No Waiting at Any Time’ restriction and suspend any existing parking and waiting restrictions on the above length of road only. All other restrictions and exemptions contained in the aforementioned Order and Amendments to that Order shall remain in force.
The works being undertaken will take place within an 18-month period from 17th April 2025, exact dates will be specified on One.Network. Access will be maintained for emergency services. Residents will be informed of the dates of each phase via letter/leaflet drop and advanced warning signs on the road.

The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while pole replacement works are undertaken by Openreach.
An alternative route is available via White Hart Lane, Magnolia Road, Rectory Road, Ashingdon Road, West Street, Bradley Way, Southend Road, Southend Road Roundabout, Southend Road, Rochford Road, Harp House Roundabout, Manners Way, Cuckoo Corner Roundabout, Prince Avenue, Prince Avenue North, Prince Avenue And Nestuda Way Roundabout, Nestuda Way, Nestuda Way And Eastwoodbury Lane Roundabout, Eastwoodbury Lane, Eastwoodbury Lane And Cherry Orchard Roundabout, Cherry Orchard Way, Cherry Orchard Way Roundabout, Hall Road Roundabout, Hall Road, Main Road and vice versa.
