Edith Rigby Way - Temporary Prohibition Of Through Traffic

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council has made an Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this notice.
1. No person shall cause any motor vehicle to proceed over the following lengths of highway in the city of Preston
i. A582 Edith Rigby Way, Preston (Southbound only) from Its junction with A582 Blackpool Road for a distance of 90 metres in a northerly direction. Access to A583 Riversway will still be available via A582 Edith Rigby Way.
ii. A5085 Blackpool Road, Preston (Eastbound) from its junction with A582 Edith Rigby Way for a distance of 110 metres in a easterly direction.
2. Nothing in this order shall apply to persons engaged in the carrying out of the works.
3. The prohibition will be operative nightly from 2100 hours until 0500 hours on Tuesday 6th May 2025 until Thursday 8th May 2025 or until completion of the works within this period.
4. Vehicular access for residents will be maintained whenever and wherever possible. Pedestrian access to properties will always be maintained.
5. An alternative route for vehicular traffic affected by the closure is via:-
Riversway – Tulketh Road – Blackpool Road.
The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow PWDR works to be carried out.
