Suffolk, Multiple Temporary Road Closures Due To Various Works

What is happening?

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE U5679 BROOMHAYES, IPSWICH

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the U5679 Broomhayes, Ipswich from Fernhayes Close to no. 12 Broomhayes to facilitate bus stop improvements. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Broomhayes, Princes of Wales Drive, Stoke Park Drive, Broomhayes and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 06/05/2025 - 10/05/2025 from 9:30am to 2:30pm but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE B1078 LOWER ROAD, CROWN CORNER AND HIGH STREET, CODDENHAM

Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the following roads:

• B1078 Lower Road, Coddenham from the junction with Rectory Road to School Road

• B1078 Crown Corner, Coddenham

• B1078 High Street, Coddenham

This is to facilitate carriageway surfacing. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be the B1078, the A140, the A1120, the B1077, the B1078 and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 8pm on 25/04/2025 until 6am on 28/04/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE U5681 FOUNTAINS ROAD, IPSWICH

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the U5681 Fountains Road, Ipswich from Pinewood Close to Egglestone Close to facilitate the installation of underground service cables. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Belstead Road, Stoke Park Drive and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 06/05/2025 - 09/05/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE U409 WICKER LANE, METTINGHAM

Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the U409 Wicker Lane, Mettingham from 25 metres south of the junction with Stone Street for 65 metres southbound.

This is to facilitate carriageway resurfacing. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be via Stone Street and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 25/04/2025 - 06/05/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE U8210 LISTON LANE, LONG MELFORD

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the U8210 Liston Lane, Long Melford from Little St Marys to St Catherines Road to facilitate carriageway resurfacing. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Little St Marys, St Catherines Road and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 07/05/2025 - 08/05/2025 from 8am - 4:30pm. If necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE C853 MOULTON ROAD, MOULTON

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the C853 Moulton Road, Moulton from Warren Towers access for 300 metres eastbound to facilitate communications pole testing. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Moulton Road, Old Station Road, the A1304, the B1506, the B1085, Newmarket Road and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate on 06/05/2025 from 9:30am to 3:30pm but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE U7016 MIDDLE GREEN, HIGHAM

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the U7016 Middle Green, Higham from The Bungalow for 35 metres southbound to facilitate a water meter exchange. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Lower Green Higham, Capitol Lane Higham, Capitol Lane Barrow, Barrow Road Barrow, Colethorpe Lane Barrow, The Street Barrow, The Green Barrow, The Green Lane Barrow, Denham Lane Barrow, Denham End Denham and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate on 07/05/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the C693 New Road, Rougham from the junction with Bradfield St George Road to facilitate carriageway resurfacing. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Ipswich Road, Bury Road Beyton, Thurston Road, Heath Road, Thurston, Barton Road, Beyton Road, Thurston Road, Barton Road Thurston, Brand Road Great Barton, Livermere Road Great Barton, Fornham Road Great Barton, Green Lane Great Barton, Mill Road Great Barton, B1106 Fornham Road, and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 05/05/2025 - 09/05/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE U8000 RUSHBROOKE LANE, BURY ST EDMUNDS

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the U8000 Rushbrooke Lane, Bury St Edmunds from 340 metres southeast from the junction with Rougham Hill for 70 metres southbound to facilitate the installation of new electrical cables. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Rougham Hill, the A134 Rougham Road, the A134 Southgate Green, the A134 Sicklesmere Road, North Hill Rushbrooke, Rushbrooke Lane and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 06/05/2025 to 09/05/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the U3123 Grange Road, Felixstowe from no. 193 - no. 241 to facilitate fibre network installation. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 25/04/2025 - 04/05/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE AND PROHIBITION OF LEFT TURN ON PART OF THE U2605 PALMERSTON ROAD, U2688 WARWICK ROAD, U3014 NORTH HILL ROAD AND U3015 BANK ROAD, IPSWICH

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the following roads in the following phases:

• U2605 Palmerston Road, Ipswich from Woodbridge Road for 30 metres southbound

• U2688 Warwick Road, Ipswich prohibition of left turn from Warwick Road to Woodbridge Road

• U3014 North Hill Road, Ipswich from Woodbridge Road for 33 metres southbound

• U3015 Bank Road, Ipswich

This is to facilitate a gas replacement scheme. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion routes will be:

• Woodbridge Road, Argyle Street and vice versa

• Woodbridge Road, Cauldwell Hall Road, Spring Road, St Helen Street, St Margarets Street, Woodbridge Road and vice versa

• Woodbridge Road, Woodbridge Road and vice versa.

It is intended that these measures will operate from:

• 01/05/2025 – 11/05/2025

• 22/05/2025 – 23/05/2025

• 25/05/2025 – 15/06/2025

If necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE U4908 CHURCH ROAD, THURSTON

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the U4908 Church Road, Thurston from the junction with Barrells Road for 30 metres northwest to facilitate access to telegraph pole for Openreach. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Barrells Road, The Planche, Heath Road, Norton Road, Sandpit Lane, Norton Road, Ashfield Road and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate on 06/05/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE U2412 BRIDGE STREET, KELSALE CUM CARLTON

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the U2412 Bridge Street, Kelsale Cum Carlton from Low Road for 75 metres westbound to facilitate a new electrical connection. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be the B1121, Low Road and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 06/05/2025 - 08/05/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE C689 FEN ROAD, PAKENHAM

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the C689 Fen Road, Pakenham from 70 metres south of the junction with Ballyveagh Road for 30 metres southbound to facilitate repairs to water chamber and cover. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be the A143, the A1088, Bull Road and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 07/05/2025 - 19/05/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE C650 AMPTON ROAD, HIGHAM ROAD AND NEW ROAD, INGHAM, AMPTON AND LITTLE LIVERMERE

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the following roads in the following phases:

• the C650 Ampton Road, Ingham

• the C650 Ampton Road, Ampton from Ampton Road for 70 metres eastbound

• the C650 New Road, Ampton from Ingham Road to Ampton Road

• the C650 Ampton Road, Little Livermere from New Road for 170 metres southbound

This is to facilitate the installation of a fibre network. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be:

• Ingham Road, Spinney Road, New Road, Ampton Road and vice versa

• A134 Seven Hills Lane, Beyton

• Livermere Road, Livermere Road, the A134, Thurston Road and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 06/05/2025 - 20/05/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE AND SUSPENSION OF WEIGHT RESTRICTION ON PART OF THE B1115 WATER RUN AND B1113 VARIOUS ROADS, HITCHAM, NEEDHAM MARKET AND BADLEY

Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the B1115 Water Run, Hitcham from the junction with The Ranch Mobile Home Park for 90 metres southbound to facilitate water reinstatement works. Other coordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be the B1115, the A1308, the B1113, the B1078, the B1115 and vice versa.

For the duration of this closure there will be a temporary suspension of the 7.5 tonne weight restriction on the following roads:

• B1113 High Street, Needham Market

• B1113 Stowmarket Road, Needham Market

• B1113 Badley Hill, Badley

• B1113 Stowmarket Road, Badley.

It is intended that these measures will operate from 8pm on 25/04/2025 - 6am on 28/04/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).
