(Temporary Prohibition) Continuation No.2 Order 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Secretary of State Transport in pursuance of the powers conferred by Sections 14 and 15 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 approves of The Nottinghamshire County Council (Lowdham Bridleway No.15 and Footpath No.14) (Temporary Prohibition) Order No.2 2023 (which came into force on 30th October 2023 and was continued in force by a Continuation Order which came into force on 30th April 2024 and remains in force until 29th April 2025 inclusive) being extended, and continuing in force until 29th April 2026 or until completion of the relevant works, whichever is the sooner.
The Order has the following effect: -
No person shall: -
(a) proceed on foot,
(b) cause any pedal cycle to proceed,
(c) cause any horse to proceed,
(d) cause any animal to proceed,
in the following length of Bridleway at Lowdham in the District of Newark and Sherwood: -
Lowdham Bridleway No.15 between grid reference points SK 6555 4632 , the junction with Lambley Road, and SK 6529 4644 , a distance of 340 metres.
And no person shall: - (a) proceed on foot,in the following length of footpath at Lowdham in the District of Newark and Sherwood:
Lowdham Footpath No.14 between grid reference points SK 6493 4600 and SK 6552 4633 , its junction with Bridleway No.15 a distance of 760 metres.
AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that during the period of restriction an alternative route for Bridleway No.15 will be provided and signed by the contractor when available.
If the works are not completed within the above period the Order may be extended for a longer period with the further approval of the Secretary of State for Transport.
The prohibition is required to enable continuing major works to the Lowdham Flood Alleviation Scheme and in respect of the likelihood of danger to the public and damage to the paths.
