What is happening?

Portsmouth City Council (Eastern Road) (Temporary Road Closure) (Temporary Prohibition of Loading and Waiting) (No.82) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that Portsmouth City Council intends to make the above Order under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991.
The Order comes into operation from 12th May 2025 and the effect will be as follows:
A) TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE AND PROHIBITION OF LOADING AND WAITING
EASTERN ROAD

From its junction with Burrfields Road to Moorings Way.
MOORINGS WAY
From its junction with Eastern Road to Heron Close.
B) TEMPORARY BANNED RIGHT TURN
EASTERN ROAD ACCESS ROAD 13 TO 89
LANGSTONE ROAD
Into Eastern Road.

Into Eastern Road.
KIRPAL ROAD
Into Eastern Road.
STRIDE AVENUE
Into Eastern Road.
HAYLING AVENUE
Into Eastern Road.
SWORD SANDS ROAD
Into Eastern Road.
TANGIER ROAD
Into Eastern Road.
BURRFIELDS ROAD
Into Eastern Road.
C) TEMPORARY BANNED LEFT TURN
BURRFIELDS ROAD (HARVESTER)
Into Eastern Road.

EAST SHORE WAY
Into Eastern Road.
EASTERN AVENUE
Into Eastern Road.
D) REASON FOR THE ORDER
To facilitate resurfacing works.
E) DURATION OF THE ORDER
From 12th May 2025 to 30th August 2025 or completion of the works, whichever is sooner. Notwithstanding the above, works will take place between Monday to Friday from 20:00 to 05:00.
F) DIVERSION
Vehicles will be diverted from Burrfields Road, Copnor Road, Milton Road, Baffins Road, St Marys Road Roundabout, Milton Road and Moorings Way, Warren Avenue, Milton Road.
Pedestrian access will be maintained around the works.
Cycles to follow vehicle diversion or dismount and follow pedestrian diversion around the works.
