Cumberland, Temporary Road Closures Due To Utility Works
What is happening?
CUMBERLAND COUNCIL (VARIOUS ROADS IN THE CUMBERLAND COUNCIL AREA)
(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) (NO.8) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable utility works to be carried out ("the Works"), Cumberland Council has made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the lengths of road specified in the attached schedule.
Pedestrian & vehicular access to properties and businesses within the affected areas will be maintained where possible. A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.

The Order will come into operation on 1 May 2025 and may continue for a maximum duration of eighteen months although works are expected to be completed within the stated timescales. Each road will be closed on separate days with the relevant traffic signs in place when the closure is in operation. The closures will be carried out as and when the relevant signs are displayed.

U2460 Christian Street, Workington – From 7 May 2025 for approx. 1 day, between 0930 and 1530 hours

From its junction with Portland Square, extending in a north easterly direction for approx. 50m.
Alternative Route: via the unrestricted section of Christian Street, A66 Ramsey Brow, Craven Street and Portland Square.
U2095 Bridekirk – From 7 May 2025 for approx. 1 day between 0930 and 1530 hours

From a point 60m south of its junction with the access road to Springfield Farm, extending in a southerly direction for approx. 30m.
