What is happening?

JULIET STREET AERIAL STREET PORTIA STREET AND KATHERINE STREET ASHINGTON
(TEMPORARY FOOTWAY CLOSURE)
ORDER No 2 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Northumberland County Council have made an Order to prohibit the use by pedestrian traffic on the following sections in the County of Northumberland.
The Order is to be effective from the 2nd May 2025 until the 21st July 2025
Footway Closures
U6531 Juliet Street, Ashington from its junction with Third Avenue heading northwards for a distance of 75 metres
It is expected that the footway will only be closed from the 2nd May 2025 until the 17th May 2025, the footway will be closed at all times during this period; however, the order will remain in place until 21st July 2025
An alternative route will be available for use whilst the TTRO is in force being via Third Avenue, Juliet Street Ariel Street Back Lane and vice-versa.Should the need arise changes may be made to the alternative routes, where possible these changes will be signposted accordingly.
U6531 Ariel Street, Ashington from its junction with Third Avenue heading northwards for a distance of 75 metres
It is expected that the footway will only be closed from the 6th May 2025 until the 26th May 2025, the footway will be closed at all times during this period; however, the order will remain in place until 21st July 2025
An alternative route will be available for use whilst the TTRO is in force being via Third Avenue, Ariel Street Alexandra Road Back Lane, Juliet Street Ariel Street Back Lane and vice-versa.
U6531 Portia Street, Ashington from its junction with Third Avenue heading northwards for a distance of 150 metres
It is expected that the footway will only be closed from the 5th May 2025 until the 20th May 2025, the footway will be closed at all times during this period; however, the order will remain in place until 21st July 2025
An alternative route will be available for use whilst the TTRO is in force being via Third Avenue, Portia Street Juliet Street Back Lane, Second Avenue and vice-versa.
U6530 Katherine Street, Ashington from its junction with Second Avenue heading northwards for a distance of 155 metres
An alternative route will be available for use whilst the TTRO is in force being via Second Avenue, Katherine Street Portia Street Back Lane, First Avenue and vice-versa.
U6531 Katherine Street, Ashington from its junction with Third Avenue heading northwards for a distance of 150 metres
An alternative route will be available for use whilst the TTRO is in force being via Third Avenue, Katherine Street Portia Street Back Lane, Second Avenue and vice-versa.
It is expected that the footways will only be closed from the 7th May 2025 until the 22nd May 2025, the footways will be closed at all times during this period; however, the order will remain in place until 21st July 2025

The closure has been requested by Advanced Utility Solutions to install ducts for fibre broadband.
