What is happening?

Notice is hereby given that Manchester City Council has on 15 April 2025 made Orders under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the titles and effects of which are as follows:

1. (P2265) City Of Manchester (Controlled Parking Zone) (Manchester City Centre) (No. 14) 2004 (Amendment No. 13 Part 2) Order 2025

No Waiting at Any Time on; Camp St - the N side from Deansgate to Longworth St - the S side from 

(i) Deansgate in a westerly direction for 5m - 

(ii) Longworth St to Byrom St - 

(iii) 25.5m west of Deansgate to Longworth St.

Deansgate - the NW side from
(i) St John St in a SW direction for 8 m - 

(ii) Camp St in a NE direction for 8m - 

(iii) Camp St in a SW direction for 8m - 

(iv) from its junction to Tonman St in a NE direction for 23m - 

(v) Quay St in a SW direction to a point 60 m NE of St John St - 

(vi) St John St in a NE direction for 36m.

No Loading At Any Time on; Camp St - the N side from Deansgate to Longworth St - the S side from Deansgate in a W direction for 5 m. 

Deansgate - the NW side from (i) St John St in a NE direction for 36 m - (ii) St John St in a SW direction for 8m - (iii) Camp St in a SW direction for 8 m - (iv) Camp St in a NE direction for 8m - (v) Tonman St in a NE direction for 23 m - (vi) Quay St in a SW direction to a point 60 m N east of St John St. 

Liverpool Road - the NE side from Deansgate in a NW direction for 22m 

Tonman St - the NE side from Deansgate to Longworth St. Pay & Display 2 Hours width 2m, No Return Within 1 Hour 8am - 8pm on; Deansgate the NW side from 23m NE of Tonman St in a NE direction for 30m

Disabled Persons Parking Place on Deansgate NW side from 8m SW of Camp St in a SW direction for 40m Goods Vehicle Loading and Unloading width 2.7m Mon - Sun 24 Hrs on;

Camp St S side from a point 5 m west of Deansgate in a westerly direction for 20.5 m Deansgate NW side from a point 8m SW of St John St in a SW direction to a point 8 m NE of Camp St Deansgate NW side from a point 36 m N east of St John St in a NE direction for 24m 

2. (P2267) City Of Manchester (Controlled Parking Zone) (Manchester City Centre) (No. 1) Consolidation Order 2013 (Amendment No. 3) Order 2025

No Waiting and No Loading at Any Time on Whitworth St West - the S side from (i) Bridgewater Viaduct to Bugle St - (ii) Bugle St to Rowendale St - (iii) Rowendale St to Cameron St - (iv) Cameron St to Albion St.

3. (P2480) City Of Manchester (Chester Road, Manchester) (No U-Turn And No Right Turn) Order 2025 

No Right Turn on Deansgate - into Bridgewater Viaduct. No U-Turn on Chester Rd - from its NE bound carriageway into SW bound carriageway at Bridgewater Viaduct.

4. (P2529) City Of Manchester (Controlled Parking Zone) (Manchester City Centre) (No. 15) Order 2004 (Amendment No. 13) ORDER 2025

No Loading at Any Time on; Bridgewater St - the NE side from Deansgate in a NW direction for 10m; Liverpool Rd - the SW side from Deansgate in a NW direction for 18m. 

The parking charge for use of the Pay and Display parking place referred to above is set out in the Schedule to this Notice. 

The classes of vehicles which may use the Pay and Display parking place are passenger vehicles, goods vehicles, motorcycles, disabled person's vehicles or invalid carriages. City Centre residents whose vehicles display a valid residents parking permit will be able to park in the Pay and Display parking place between 8.00am - 9.00am and 5.00pm - 8.00pm on Monday to Friday and between 8.00am - 8.00pm on Saturday and Sunday. 

Residents permit holders whose vehicles display a valid convenience ticket together with a valid residents parking permit will be able to park in the Pay and Display parking place for up to 4 hours on Monday to Friday (between 9.00am and 1.00pm or 1.00pm and 5.00pm).

Existing Orders are amended to be consistent with above.

The Orders will come into operation on 29 April 2025.

Copies of the Orders as made and the plans may be inspected at Customer Service Centre, Ground Floor, Town Hall Extension M60 2LA (for Sat. Nav. use M2 5DB) between the hours of 9am and 4.30pm on Monday to Friday inclusive. 

Anyone wishing to question the validity of the Orders or any provision contained in them on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or that any requirement of that Act or of any instrument made under it has not been complied with in relation to the Orders may within 6 weeks from 15 April 2025 apply to the High Court for such purpose.
