Suffolk, Multiple Roads, Temporary Closures Due To Various Works

What is happening?

SUFFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984: SECTION 14

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE U1310 CHURCH STREET, SOUTHWOLD

Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the U1310 Church Street, Southwold from the junction with North Green for 30 metres northbound to facilitate a new gas and water connection.

Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be via Victoria Street, High Street and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 22/04/2025 - 24/04/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF THE U5961, 1071 ROAD, UPPER ROSE LANE, LOWER ROSE LANE AND ROSE LANE WORTHAM, PALGRAVE AND DISS

Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the following roads:

  • U5961 Lion Road, Palgrave

  • C679 Upper Rose Lane, Palgrave

  • C678 Lower Rose Lane, Palgrave

  • C678 Rose Lane, Diss

This is to facilitate carriageway resurfacing. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be via the A1066, B1077, the A143 and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 22/04/2025 - 26/04/2025 from 7am - 5pm. If necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE C246 LOW STREET, BERNHAM

Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the C246 Low Street, Bernham from 459 metres south of junction with Mere Road for 74 metres westbound to facilitate a new water main.

Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be the B1116, the A12 and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 22/04/2025 - 06/05/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE A137 CHANEY ROAD AND WENLY END ROAD AND THE B1075 PRINCESS STREET, IPSWICH

Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the following roads:

  • the A137 Chaney Road, Ipswich from Chaney Road for 127 metres westbound to the B1075 Princess Street.

  • the B1075 Princess Street, Ipswich from Burrell Road to Civic Drive.

This is to facilitate road design and build before preventing during a football match. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Burrell Road, Stoke Street, Bridge Street, Greyfriars Road, Franciscan Way, Civic Drive, Handford Road, Ranelagh Road and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate on 20/04/2025 from 12 midday - 5pm but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE U5955 GROVE LANE, WHERSTEAD

Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the U5955 Grove Lane, Wherstead from 27 metres southeast of the junction with Vicarage Lane for 150 metres southeast to facilitate underground works. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be via The Street, A137, A14 and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 22/04/2025 - 26/04/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE U4655 LOWER ROAD, SHELLAND

Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the U4655 Lower Road, Shelland from the junction with Church Road to a point 180 metres southeast to facilitate drainage improvement works.

Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be via Church Road, Rattlesden Road, The Green, Green Road, Warren Lane, Harleston Hill, Gislingham Road and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 22/04/2025 - 24/04/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE U1324 BACONS GREEN ROAD, WESTHALL

Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the U1324 Bacons Green Road, Westhall from 95 metres east of the junction with The Causeway for 40 metres eastbound to facilitate a new water connection. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be The Causeway, Gull Hill, Strawberry Lane, the B1124 and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 22/04/2025 - 24/04/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE U3111 THURMANS LANE, TRIMLEY ST MARY

Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the U3111 Thurmans Lane, Trimley St Mary from the junction with High Road to 136 metres eastbound to facilitate a fibre network. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

There will be no diversion route.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 22/04/2025 - 04/05/2025 from 9am - 4pm but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).
