A46 Trunk Road - Temporary Prohibition of Traffic For Nottinghamshire County Show

What is happening?

THE A46 TRUNK ROAD (WINTHORPE ROUNDABOUT) (NOTTINGHAMSHIRE)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited (Company no. 9346363) has made an Order on the A46 Trunk Road, in the County of Nottinghamshire, due to the likelihood of danger whilst there is increased traffic during the Nottinghamshire County Show.

The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any vehicle from entering or proceeding on Winthorpe Roundabout, from the junction with Drove Lane, except to allow vehicles to make a left turn into the southbound carriageway of the A46.

The order is expected to be in operation between 09:00 hours on Tuesday 6th May 2025 and ending at 17:00 hours on Sunday 11th May 2025. The Order will come into force on Tuesday 29 April 2025.

Vehicles being used for police, fire and rescue authority or ambulance purposes will be exempt from the prohibition. Traffic from Drove Lane will be diverted via the A46 southbound carriageway, to its roundabout junction with the A17 and the exit and entry slip roads to the A1, to rejoin the A46 northbound carriageway. The diversion will be signed.
