Norfolk, Multiple Traffic Notices - Temporary Road Closures due to Utility and Highway Maintenance Works

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDERS 2025 (NORWICH)
Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984
Norfolk County Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, hereby give notice that:
i) THEY PROPOSE TO MAKE Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders in respect of the following roads:
CHURCHILL ROAD – from its junction with Sprowston Road for 50m eastwards to facilitate reinstatement remedial works between 08:00 and 18:00 on 30th April 2025 (may continue until 11th June 2025). Alternative route is via: Spencer Street, Northcote Road, Sprowston Road. The works promoter is Cadent Gas.
SAINT GEORGE STREET & CROSS LANE –
1) Saint Georges Street from 95 north of its junction with Colegate to 40m south of Golden Dog Lane and
2) Cross Lane from 100m north of its junction with Colegate to 100m south of Saint Crispins Street and
3) Saint Georges Street from 44m north of its junction with Cross Lane for 35m northwards to facilitate two new 4 way link boxes installation works. The roads 1) and 2) will be temporarily closed and traffic over the road 3) shall be temporarily prohibited to park, stop, load, and/or unload between 08:00 and 17:00 from 28th April to 5th May 2025. (may continue until 16th June 2025). Alternative route is via: Colegate, Fye Bridge Street, Fishergate, Whitefriars, St Crispins Road, Calvert Street Calvert Street, St Crispins Road, Whitefriars, Fishergate, Fye Bridge Street, Colegate. The works promoter is Norfolk County Council.
TELEGRAPH LANE EAST – from its junction with A1242 Thorpe Road to its junction with Wellesley Avenue South to facilitate footway reconstruction works from 28th April to 12th May 2025 (may continue until 23rd June 2025). Alternative route is via: Telegraph Lane East, Cotman Road, Heathside Road, Thorpe Road (Thorpe St. Andrew). The works promoter is Norfolk County Council.
WENSUM STREET – from 40m north of its junction Elm Hill for 20m northwards to facilitate water utility apparatus installation works between 08:00 and 16:00 on 27th April and 4th May 2025 (may continue until 15th June 2025).
Alternative route is via: Wensum Street, Palace Street, St Martin At Palace Plain, Whitefriars, Fishergate, Fye Bridge Street and vice versa. The works promoter is Anglian Water.
ii) THEY HAVE MADE Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders in respect of the following roads:
CLABON ROAD – from its junction with Wall Road for 30m northwards to facilitate new water connection works from 22nd to 24th April 2025 (may continue until 5th June 2025).
Alternative route is via: Wall Road, Sprowston Road, Shipfield, Denton Road, Clabon Road and vice versa. The works promoter is Anglian Water.
TOMBLAND – from 5m north of its junction with Queen Street for 10m northwards on the eastern side of the carriageway only to facilitate footway reinstatement works. Traffic (constituting any class of vehicle) over the road shall be temporarily prohibited to park, stop, load, and/or unload between 09:30 - 15:00 on 22nd April 2025 (may continue until the 3rd June 2025).
Alternative route is via: N/A. The works promoter is Norfolk County Council.
Unless otherwise stated, the effect of these Orders will be to prohibit the use by vehicles of the named road(s)/footpath(s). In the event of the start date being delayed the new start date will be displayed on site in advance. Where an Order is for a reason other than works it is because of the likelihood of danger to the public or of serious damage to the road/footpath.
Anticipated dates are stated but the Orders may continue until the end date where necessary or required.
The Orders are revoked on the end date or on the actual date of removal of the prohibition/restriction where earlier without further notice.
If necessary, the restrictions can have a maximum duration of 18 months or up to 6 months in respect of footpaths, cycle paths, bridleways, restricted byways, and byways open to all traffic (BOAT).
Penalty: £1000 maximum fine on conviction and/or endorsement for contravention.
