Keldgate Road - Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic to Allow Gas Mains Replacement Works

What is happening?

THE EAST RIDING OFYORKSHIRE COUNCIL

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 14 (I

TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC KELDGATE ROAD, BEVERLEY (PART)

Notice is hereby given that East Riding of Yorkshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order, the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along Keldgate Road, Beverley (between 48 Cartwright Lane and 30 metres west of 49 Cartwright Lane) commencing Monday 12 May 2025 to allow gas mains replacement works to take place.

The road closure is necessary to enable the works to be carried out in a manner consistent with ensuring the safety of the public.

The Order is valid for 18 months, but it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 2 June 2025.

The alternative route for traffic affected by the road closure will be via Keldgate Road, Broadgate, Beverley Road, Bentley Lane, High Daw Hill, Dunflat Road, Jocks Lodge Westbound Interchange, Victoria Road Roundabout, Wingfield Way,Victoria Road,Woodmansey Mile Roundabout, Queensgate and Cartwright Lane,Walkington CP, Rowley CP, Beverley CP,Woodmansey CP, St Mary’s Ward, Beverley Rural Ward, Minster and Woodmansey Ward, Dale Ward.

The diversion route will be signed at the time of closure.

The road will be closed to all traffic but access will be maintained for emergency vehicles. Further information can be obtained by contacting the council and asking for Highways Customer Care, telephone (01482) 393939.
