Cumberland - Multiple Temporary Road Closures due to Utility Works
What is happening?
CUMBERLAND COUNCIL (VARIOUS ROADS IN THE CUMBERLAND COUNCIL AREA)
(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable utility works to be carried out (“the Works”), Cumberland Council has made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the lengths of road specified in the attached Schedule.
Suitable diversion routes will be indicated on site by the display of relevant traffic signs and as and when the temporary closures are in force. A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.

The Order will come into operation on 22 April 2025 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required for as stated in the schedule and only as and when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.

B6263 Warwick-on-Eden – from 22 April 2025 for approx. 4 days (Ref:TTR0C/13994)
From its junction with the A69 to its junction with Plains Road, Wetheral.
Alternative Route: via the Plains Road, Wetheral and the A69
U1031 Blackpool Gate – from 5 May 2025 for approx. 5 days (Ref:TTR0C/14033)
From its junction with the C1025, extending in an easterly direction for approx. 1.5km.
There is no suitable alternative route available for vehicles.
U1076 near Blackford – from 5 May 2025 for approx. 4 days (Ref:TTR0C/14192)
From its junction with the C1009 to its junction with the A7, Carlisle Road.
Alternative Route: via the A7, Carlisle Road, U1074 and the C1009.
C1012 near Barclose – from 6 May 2025 for approx. 3 days (Ref:TTR0C/14245)
From a point approx 310m south west of its junction with Bar Lonning, extending in a south westerly direction for approx 240m.
Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the C1012, C1011 and Bar Lonning.
U1085 Rigg Head, near Kirklington – from 7 May 2025 for approx. 1 week (Ref:TTR0C/13870)
From its junction with the B1048, extending in a south westerly direction for approx 530m.
Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the U1085, U1083 and the U1082.
U1011 Carwinley – from 15 May 2025 for approx. 2 days (Ref:TTR0C/14194)
From its junction with the C1006 to its junction with the C1006.
Alternative Route: via the C1006 and the C1011.
C1009 Blackford – from 9 May 2025 for approx. 3 days (Ref:TTR0C/14238)
From its junction with the U1074, extending in a north easterly direction for approx. 1.1km.
Alternative Route: via the unrestricted section of the C1009, A7 Carlisle Road and U1074.
Bar Lonning, Barclose – from 12 May 2025 for approx. 3 days (Ref:TTR0C/14239)
From its junction with the C1011 to its junction with the C1012.
Alternative Route: via the C1012 and the C1011.
U1063 and U1064, Longtown – from 15 May 2025 for approx. 3 days (Ref:TTR0C/14260)
(i) U1063, from a point approx. 55m south east of its junction with St Michaels Drive, extending in an overall south easterly direction for approx 820m; and
(ii) U1064 from its junction with the U1063, extending in an easterly direction for approx 115m.
Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the U1064, C1004, Moor Road, Mary Street, Burn Street, Mill Street and Old Road Longtown.
U1019 Catlowdy – from 16 May 2025 for approx. 3 days (Ref:TTR0C/14242)
From its junction with the B6318, extending in a south easterly direction for its entire length.
There is no suitable alternative route available for vehicles.

From its junction with the U1034 to its junction with the C1025.
Alternative Route: via the C1025, U1035 and the U1034.
U1083 Smithfield – from 26 May 2025 for approx. 5 days (Ref:TTR0C/14210)
From its junction with the U1082 to its junction with Sikby Road.
Alternative Route: via Sikby Road, A6071, U1077, C1005 and the U1082.
U1026 Roadhead – from 9 June 2025 for approx. 3 days (Ref:TTR0C/14049)
From its junction with the B6318, extending in a north easterly direction for approx. 1.5km.
