What is happening?
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14 - KIRKLEES COUNCIL
(BRADFORD ROAD, HUDDERSFIELD) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the Borough of Kirklees by reason of works proposed to be carried out on or near the road intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be that no person shall cause or permit any vehicle to proceed in that length of Bradford Road, Huddersfield from its junction with Castlegate for approximately 70 metres along Bradford Road PROVIDED THAT such prohibition shall not extend to vehicles being used in connection with the works to be carried out on or near the closed length of road or to vehicles requiring access up to the point(s) of the closure.
Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.
Alternative routes for vehicles affected by the closure will be available via Bradford Road, Willow Lane, St John’s Road, Castlegate - anti clockwise only.
It is intended that the closure will commence on Sunday 11 May 2025 and remain in force for approximately one day (although it can remain in force for any period up to 18 months if necessary).
(SAVILLE ROAD, SKELMANTHORPE, HUDDERSFIELD) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the Borough of Kirklees by reason of works proposed to be carried out on or near the road intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be that no person shall cause or permit any vehicle to proceed in that length of Saville Road, Skelmanthorpe at a point opposite plot number 20 Saville Road PROVIDED THAT such prohibition shall not extend to vehicles being used in connection with the works to be carried out on or near the closed length of road or to vehicles requiring access up to the point(s) of the closure.
Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.
Alternative routes for vehicles affected by the closure will be available via Saville Road, Station Road, Gib Lane, Elm Street, Saville Road and vice versa.
It is intended that the closure will commence on Monday 12 May 2025 and remain in force until 14 May 2025 (although it can remain in force for any period up to 18 months if necessary).
(VARIOUS ROADS IN HUDDERSFIELD) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the Borough of Kirklees by reason of works proposed to be carried out on or near the road intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be that no person shall cause or permit any vehicle to proceed in the lengths of road Huddersfield on a rolling program as follows:
Barnsley Road, Upper Cumberworth (A635), Huddersfield - from Cumberworth Lane to Viaduct Town End (B6111), Golcar, Huddersfield - from Leymoor Road to Church Street
Church Street (B6111), Golcar, Huddersfield - from Town End to Knowl Road
Knowl Road (B6111), Golcar, Huddersfield - from Church Street to Scar Lane Scar Lane (B6111), Golcar, Huddersfield - from Knowl Road to Rufford Road Aldonley, Almondbury, Huddersfield - from Fleminghouse Lane to Fernside Avenue

PROVIDED THAT such prohibition shall not extend to vehicles being used in connection with the works to be carried out on or near the closed length of road or to vehicles requiring access up to the point(s) of the closure.
Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.
Please be advised diversions will be signed locally as and when required. It is intended that the closure will commence on Monday 12 May 2025 and remain in force until 30 September 2025. These roads will not be closed for the entire duration of the dates specified.
These closures will be completed on a rolling program. Individual closures will usually be for up to a day (although it can remain in force for any period up to 18 months if necessary).
(VARIOUS ROADS IN HOLMFIRTH) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the Borough of Kirklees by reason of works proposed to be carried out on or near the road intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be that no person shall cause or permit any vehicle to proceed in the lengths of road Holmfirth on a rolling program as follows:
- Woodhead Road, Holme, Holmfirth
- from house number 248 to house number 400
Speed Limit Change
- Cross Gate Road, Hade Edge, Holmfirth - Cross Lane to Dunford Road
- Moor Lane, Netherthong, Holmfirth
- Wolfstones Road to Holmdale Crescent PROVIDED THAT such prohibition shall not extend to vehicles being used in connection with the works to be carried out on or near the closed length of road or to vehicles requiring access up to the point(s) of the closure.
Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.

(LONG LANE, FLOCKTON, WAKEFIELD) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the Borough of Kirklees by reason of works proposed to be carried out on or near the road intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be that no person shall cause or permit any vehicle to proceed in that length of Long Lane, Flockton, from its junction with Windmill Hill Lane for approximately 100 metres West along Long Lane PROVIDED THAT such prohibition shall not extend to vehicles being used in connection with the works to be carried out on or near the closed length of road or to vehicles requiring access up to the point(s) of the closure.
Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.
Alternative routes for vehicles affected by the closure will be available via Long Lane, Lenacre Lane, Westfield Lane, Windmill Hill Lane and vice versa.
It is intended that the closure will commence on Wednesday 14 May 2025 and remain in force for approximately one day (although it can remain in force for any period up to 18 months if necessary).
(LEEDS ROAD, (CYCLE LANE) HUDDERSFIELD) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF USE) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the Borough of Kirklees by reason of works proposed to be carried out on or near the road intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be that no person shall cause or permit any vehicle/cycle to proceed in that length of the cycle lane on Leeds Road, Huddersfield from a point approximately outside RRG Toyota to its junction with Peace Pit Lane PROVIDED THAT such prohibition shall not extend to vehicles being used in connection with the works to be carried out on or near the closed length of road or to vehicles requiring access up to the point(s) of the closure.
Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.
No diversion required, pedestrian walkway will be provided.
It is intended that the closure will commence on Friday 16 May 2025 and remain in force until 19 May 2025 (although it can remain in force for any period up to 18 months if necessary).
(LANE SIDE LANE, KIRKHEATON, HUDDERSFIELD) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) (NO 2) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the Borough of Kirklees by reason of works proposed to be carried out on or near the road intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be that no person shall cause or permit any vehicle to proceed in that length of Lane Side Lane, Kirkheaton from a point approximately outside the Paddock to its junction with Long Tongue Scrog Lane PROVIDED THAT such prohibition shall not extend to vehicles being used in connection with the works to be carried out on or near the closed length of road or to vehicles requiring access up to the point(s) of the closure.
Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.
Alternative routes for vehicles affected by the closure will be available via: Eastbound: Lane Side, Gawthorpe Green Lane, Lucy Lane, Gawthorpe Lane, Chimney Lane, Wakefield Road, Waterloo Road, Albany Road, School Lane Westbound: School Lane, Waterloo Road, Wakefield Road, Chimney Lane, Gawthorpe Lane It is intended that the closure will commence on Wednesday 14 May 2025 09:00 hours and remain in force until 16 May 2025 17:00 hours (although it can remain in force for any period up to 18 months if necessary).
(BATH STREET, HUDDERSFIELD) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the Borough of Kirklees by reason of works proposed to be carried out on or near the road has made an Order the effect of which will be that no person shall cause or permit any vehicle to proceed in that length of Bath Street, Huddersfield from a point outside property no 14 Bath Street to a point outside property no 26 Bath Street PROVIDED THAT such prohibition shall not extend to vehicles being used in connection with the works to be carried out on or near the closed length of road or to vehicles requiring access up to the point(s) of the closure.
Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.
Alternative routes for vehicles affected by the closure will be available via Bath Street, St John’s Road, Fitzwilliam Street, Rook Street, Bath Street and vice versa.
It is intended that the closure will operate on Monday 28 April 2025 only (although it can remain in force for any period up to 18 months if necessary).
(ARKENLEY LANE, ALMONDBURY, HUDDERSFIELD) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the Borough of Kirklees by reason of works proposed to be carried out on or near the road has made an Order the effect of which will be that no person shall cause or permit any vehicle to proceed in that length of Arkenley Lane, Almondbury from a point outside property no 6 Arkenley Lane to a point outside property no 16 Arkenley Lane PROVIDED THAT such prohibition shall not extend to vehicles being used in connection with the works to be carried out on or near the closed length of road or to vehicles requiring access up to the point(s) of the closure.
Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.
Alternative routes for vehicles affected by the closure will be available via Arkenley Lane, St Helen’s Gate, Woodsome Road, Bankfoot Road, Sharp Lane, Almondbury Common, Arkenley Lane and vice versa.
It is intended that the closure will commence on Monday 28 April 2025 and remain in force until 29 April 2025 (although it can remain in force for any period up to 18 months if necessary).
(ST JOHN’S AVENUE, KIRKHEATON, HUDDERSFIELD) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the Borough of Kirklees by reason of works proposed to be carried out on or near the road has made an Order the effect of which will be that no person shall cause or permit any vehicle to proceed in that length of St John’s Avenue, Kirkheaton from a point outside property no 23 St John’s Avenue to point outside property no 31 St John’s Avenue PROVIDED THAT such prohibition shall not extend to vehicles being used in connection with the works to be carried out on or near the closed length of road or to vehicles requiring access up to the point(s) of the closure.
Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.
Alternative routes for vehicles affected by the closure will be available via St John’s Avenue, St John’s Road, Fields Rise, New Road, St John’s Avenue and vice versa.
It is intended that the closure will commence on Tuesday 29 April 2025 and remain in force until 2 May 2025 (although it can remain in force for any period up to 18 months if necessary).
(LOCKWOOD ROAD, LOCKWOOD, HUDDERSFIELD) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the Borough of Kirklees by reason of works proposed to be carried out on or near the road has made an Order the effect of which will be that no person shall cause or permit any vehicle to proceed in that length of Lockwood Road, Lockwood from its junction with Fair Street to its junction with Bridge Street PROVIDED THAT such prohibition shall not extend to vehicles being used in connection with the works to be carried out on or near the closed length of road or to vehicles requiring access up to the point(s) of the closure.
Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.
No diversion required, bus lane closure only.
It is intended that the closure will commence on Friday 2 May 2025 and will remain in force until 17 April 2026 (although it can remain in force for any period up to 18 months if necessary).
