What is happening?

WAKEFIELD COUNCIL

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTION 14

(OLD ROAD, FLOCKTON)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 95) 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield has made an Order on traffic management grounds to complete works on New Road. Excavate to install approximately 320m telecoms cable to link into existing telecoms apparatus as part of the fibre to the home scheme  to be carried out as follows:-

ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Old Road, Flockton for approximately 100 metres. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Old Road.

ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: New Road, Cross Road, Old Road & vice versa.

PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 30th April 2025 to 2nd May 2025, or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.

Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.

(NEWMARKET LANE, STANLEY)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 97) 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield has made an Order on traffic management grounds for carriageway resurfacing  & ironworks adjustments to be carried out as follows:-

ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Newmarket Lane, Stanley between Aberford Road and Headway. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Newmarket Lane.

ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: Newmarket Lane, Watergate, Church Side, Leeds Road, Methley Lane, A642 Wakefield Road, Rothwell Interchange, A642 Aberford Road, B6135 Newmarket Lane.

PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 30th April 2025 to 1st May 2025 between 20.00 hours and 05.00 hours, or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.

Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.

(SHAY LANE, WALTON)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 107) 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield intend to make an Order on traffic management grounds for installation of new bridge height restriction signange to be carried out as follows:-

ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Shay Lane, Walton for approximately 10 metres either side of the bridge. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Shay Lane.

ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: Shay Lane/B6378, Greenside/B6378, Walton Station Lane / B6378, Chevet Lane/B6132, Barnsley Road/A61, Bridge Street/A61, Kirkgate/A61, Doncaster Road/A61/A638, Lodge Lane/B6378, Shay Lane/B6378 & vice versa.

PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 12th May 2025 at 22.00 hours  to 13th May 2025 at 06.00 hours, or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.

Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.

(WARMFIELD LANE, WARMFIELD)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 111) 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield intend to make an Order on traffic management grounds to excavate to install approximately 30 metres of telecoms cable to link into existing telecoms apparatus as part of the fibre to the home scheme to be carried out as follows:-

ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Warmfield Lane, Warmfield for approximately 230 metres. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Warmfield Lane.

ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: Boundary Lane, Warmfield Road, Wakefield Road & vice versa.

PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 12th May 2025 at 08.00 hours  to 14th May 2025 at 18.00 hours, or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.

Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.
