Barrow in Furness - Temporary Road Closures and Waiting Restrictions due to Utility Works

What is happening?

WESTMORLAND AND FURNESS COUNCIL (REAR OF SOUTH ROW, NORTH ROW, STONE DYKE LANE, AND A5087 SALTHOUSE ROAD, BARROW IN FURNESS) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2025)

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable utility works to be carried out (“the Works”), Westmorland and Furness Council has made an Order the effect of which is to:

  1. Prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the following sections of road:-

    (i) Rear of South Row, Barrow in Furness, from its junction with the A5087 Ramside Road, extending in a north easterly direction for approx. 520m.

    Alternative Route: via the A5087 Ramside Road and the unrestricted section of South Row.

    Duration: From 21st April 2025 for approx. 5 days (Ref: TTROW/13700)

    (ii) North Row and Stone Dyke Lane, Barrow in Furness, from North Row’s junction with the A5087 Ramside Road, extending in a northerly then northerly direction into Stone Dyke Lane for approx. 680m.

    Alternative Route: via the A5087 Ramside Road and Leece Lane.

    Duration: From 28th April 2025 for approx. 5 days (Ref: TTROW/13701)

  2. Prohibit any vehicle from waiting at any time, on any day and/or from loading and unloading, at any time on any day (including blue badge holders) along that section of A5087 Salthouse Road, Barrow in Furness (east side) from a point adjacent to a property known as No 9 Westfield Terrace, extending in a westerly direction for approx. 30 metres.

    Duration: From 28th April 2025 for approx. 5 days (Ref: TTROW/13710)

The Order will come into operation on 21st April 2025 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required as detailed above, and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
