CROYDON COUNCIL

HEALTHY SCHOOL STREET PEDESTRIAN AND CYCLE ZONE OUTSIDE SCHOOL - PROPELLER CRESCENT, CROYDON

THE CROYDON (TRAFFIC MOVEMENT) (NO.1) ORDER 2025

  1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Croydon Council on 14 April 2025 made the above Traffic Order under Section 6 and 124 of Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended and all other enabling powers.

  2. (a) The general effect of the Order will be to introduce a prohibition on any motorised vehicle entering the section of street listed below during the periods between 8am and 9.30am and 2pm and 4pm, Monday to Friday, with an exemption for those holding a valid permit in relation to the pedestrian and cycle zone in that section of street, issued by the Council. The restrictions will be enforced during school term time.

(b) The restrictions will not apply to vehicles being used for police, ambulance, or fire service purposes, to liveried vehicles providing a universal postal service or to vehicles in the service of the local authority being used in pursuance of statutory powers or duties.

  1. Copies of the Order, which will come into operation on 22 April 2025 and of all associated Orders can be inspected between 9am and 4pm, Monday to Friday inclusive, until the last day of a period of six weeks beginning with the date on which the Order is made, by appointment with the Parking Design Team, 3rd Floor, Zone C, Bernard Weatherill House, 8 Mint Walk, Croydon, CR0 1EA (telephone 020 8726 6000 and ask for Parking Design). Alternatively all related documents or further information can be requested by email to Parking.Design@croydon.gov.uk.

  2. Any person desiring to question the validity of the Order or of any provision contained therein on the ground that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984 or that any of the relevant requirements thereof or of any relevant regulations made there under have not been complied with in relation to the Order may, within six weeks of the date on which the Order is made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.

THE ROAD TRAFFIC (TEMPORARY RESTRICTIONS) ACT 1991

DUPPAS HILL TERRACE, CROYDON

TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF VEHICULAR TRAFFIC

  1. Croydon Council HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that to facilitate works to a gas main by SGN, they have made an Order the effect of which would be to temporarily prohibit traffic movements in Duppas Hill Terrace, Croydon.

  2. During the work Duppas Hill Terrace will be closed between the northern boundary of No. 31 Duppas Hill Terrace and the southern boundary of the Old Town Youth Centre, Charles Major Centre, Duppas Hill Terrace.

  3. Whilst the closure remains in force the alternative routes for diverted vehicles will be via Duppas Hill Lane, Old Town, Rectory Grove, Waddon New Road and Waddon Road, or via Waddon Road, Harrison’s Rise, Ravenswood Road, Warrington Road and Duppas Hill Road

  4. The Order will come into operation on 22 April 2025, and it is anticipated that the work will be completed within twelve days. However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be introduced should further work be required. The prohibitions will only apply during such times and to such extent as shall from time to time be indicated by traffic signs.

    5. The restrictions shall not apply in respect of:

    (a) any vehicle or person involved in conducting the said work.

    (b) a vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance, or police purposes, or the purposes of a statutory undertaker in an emergency, such as the loss of supplies of gas, electricity or water to premises in the area, which necessitates the bringing of vehicles into a section of road to which the order applies.

    (c) anything done with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a Civil Enforcement Officer.

    THE ROAD TRAFFIC (TEMPORARY RESTRICTIONS) ACT 1991

    VINCENT ROAD, CROYDON

    TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF VEHICULAR TRAFFIC & PARKING

    1. Croydon Council HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that to facilitate works on behalf of Thames Water, they have made an Order the effect of which would be to temporarily prohibit vehicular traffic movements and parking in Vincent Road, Croydon.

    2. During the works:

      a) Vincent Road will be closed between the common boundaries of Nos. 8 and 10 and Nos. 9 and 11 Vincent Road.

      b) Parking will be suspended and waiting and loading restrictions will apply outside Nos. 8a and 11 Vincent Road.

    3. Whilst the closure remains in force the alternative route for diverted traffic will be via Vincent Road, Leicester Road, Stretton Road and vice versa.

    4. The Order will come into operation on 23 April 2025, and it is anticipated that the work will be carried out within one day. However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be reintroduced should further works be required. The prohibitions will only apply during such times and to such extent as shall from time to time be indicated by traffic signs.

      5. The restriction shall not apply in respect of:

      (a) any vehicle involved in carrying out the said works.

      (b) a vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance, or police purposes, or the purposes of a statutory undertaker in an emergency, such as the loss of supplies of gas, electricity or water to premises in the area, which necessitates the bringing of vehicles into a section of road to which the order applies.

      (c) anything done with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a Civil Enforcement Officer.

      LANSDOWNE ROAD, CROYDON

      TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF VEHICULAR TRAFFIC & PARKING

      1. Croydon Council HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that to facilitate works to telecommunication masts, they intend to make an Order the effect of which would be to temporarily prohibit traffic movements and parking in Lansdowne Road, Croydon.

      2. During the work:

        (a) Lansdowne Road will be closed between its junction with Bedford Place and No. 79 Lansdowne Road.

        (b) Parking bays opposite No. 75 Lansdowne Road will be suspended.

      3. Whilst the closure remains in force the alternative routes for diverted traffic will be as detailed below.

        • From Bedford Place: via Lansdowne Road, Sydenham Road, Gladstone Road, Gloucester Road, and A222.

        • From A222 Windmill Bridge: via A222, Sydenham Road, and Bedford Place.

        • From A222 St James’s Road: via A222 Windmill Bridge, Lower Addiscombe Road, Cherry Orchard Road, Addiscombe Grove, Barclay Road, Park Lane, Wellesley Road, Bedford Park, and Bedford Place.

        1. The Order will come into operation on 01 May 2025, and it is anticipated that the work will be completed within one day. However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be reintroduced should further work be required. The prohibitions will only apply during such times and to such extent as shall from time to time be indicated by traffic signs.

        2. The restrictions shall not apply in respect of:

          (a) any vehicle involved in conducting the said work.

          (b) a vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance, or police purposes, or the purposes of a statutory undertaker in an emergency, such as the loss of supplies of gas, electricity or water to premises in the area, which necessitates the bringing of vehicles into a section of road to which the order applies.

          (c) anything done with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a Civil Enforcement Officer.

        PAWSONS ROAD, CROYDON & SANDRINGHAM ROAD, THORNTON HEATH

        TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF VEHICULAR TRAFFIC

        1. Croydon Council HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that to facilitate gas main replacement works by SGN, they intend to make an Order the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit vehicular traffic movements in Pawsons Road, Croydon and Sandringham Road, Thornton Heath.

        2. Whilst the said works are taking place:

          a) Sandringham Road will be closed between its junction with Kynaston Road and the north-eastern flank wall of No. 2 Sandringham Road from 05 May to 19 May 2025.

          b) Pawsons Road will be closed between its junctions with Lion Road and Mayday Road from 09 June to 14 July 2025.

          1. During the closure, the alternative routes for traffic will be as detailed below:

          • Sandringham Road Southbound: Via Pitt Road, Pawsons Road, Palmerston Road.

          • Sandringham Road Northbound: Via Pitt Road, Kynaston Avenue, Kynaston Road.

          • Pawsons Road Southbound: Via Queens Road, Windmill Road, Whitehorse Road.

          • Pawsons Road Northbound: Via Queens Road, Bensham Lane, Brigstock Road, High Street, Whitehorse Road.

          1. The Order will come into operation on 05 May 2025, and it is anticipated that the works will be carried out as detailed above. However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be reintroduced should further work be required.

          2. These restrictions shall not apply in respect of:

            (a) any vehicle involved in carrying out the said work.

            (b) a vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance, or police purposes, or the purposes of a statutory undertaker in an emergency, such as the loss of supplies of gas, electricity or water to premises in the area, which necessitates the bringing of vehicles into a section of road to which the order applies.

            (c) anything done with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a Civil Enforcement Officer.
