What is happening?
THE SURREY COUNTY COUNCIL
Cromwell Road (D1392) and Cromwell Grove (D1392) Caterham Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
Surrey County Council propose to make the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from waiting in: (a) that length of Cromwell Road (D1392) Caterham as extends from the entrance to the property known as “84 Crowell Grove” to the end of Cromwell Grove and (b) the entire length of Cromwell Grove (D1392) Caterham.
The Order is required to allow UKPN to facilitate cable diversion and all associated works. These works are anticipated to be carried out during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 21 May 2025 for 3 weeks. Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. NB – the disabled parking bay on Cromwell Grove will be suspended during these works.
C70 Stanstead Road, Caterham Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
On 23 April 2025 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of C70 Stanstead Road, Caterham that extends from its junction with Church Road, to its junction with D1427 Park Avenue. This Traffic Order is required to enable BT Openreach to carry out telegraph pole replacement and/or cabling and/or maintenance works. These works are anticipated to be carried out between the hours of 8:30am and 3:30pm within 1 day of the 12 month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 06 May 2025. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.
Access for emergency services, residents, businesses, equestrians, cyclists and pedestrians will be maintained at all times.
Alternative route: – Stanstead Road, Roffes Lane, Chaldon Road, Caterham High Street and Church Road.
Headley Road (C55) Leatherhead Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order (No. 2) 2025
On 23 April 2025 Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) and 14(7) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of; (a) Headley Road (C55) Leatherhead which extends from its junction with Reigate Road (B2033) to the southwestern property boundary line of “Larchwood”, and; (b) suspend “The Surrey County Council Headley Road (C55) Leatherhead Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025” insofar as it affects that length of road specified in Part (a) of this Notice.
Alternative Route – Reigate Road (B2033), By-Pass Road (A24) and Headley Road (C55) or the same route in reverse.
This Order is required to allow Road Traffic Management Ltd to carry out replacement of decayed telegraph pole, which is anticipated to be completed within 2 days, between 8:00am and 5:00pm, during the 12 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 28 April 2025. Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for emergency vehicles, residents, pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained at all times. All other vehicular traffic will be required to use the signed diversion route.
Norwood Hill Road (C57) Charlwood Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
On 23 April 2025 Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Norwood Hill Road (C57) Charlwood which extends from its junction with Collendean Lane (D330) to its junction with Old Farm Close (X8232).
Alternative Route – Smalls Hill Road (C57), Tapners Road (C57), Bunce Common Road (C58), Newdigate Road (C59), Clayhill Road (C59), Broad Lane (C59), Partridge Lane (C60), Blanks Lane (C61), Stan Hill (C61) and Norwood Hill Road (C57) or the same route in reverse.
This Order is required to allow BT Openreach to carry out pole testing works, which is anticipated to be completed within 1 day, between 9:30am and 3:30pm, during the 12 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 30 April 2025. Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for emergency vehicles, residents, pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained at all times. All other vehicular traffic will be required to use the signed diversion route.
Grovehill Road (D1266) Redhill Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
On 22 April 2025, Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from waiting in that length of Grovehill Road (D1266) Redhill as it extends from the eastern boundary of the property known as “21 Grovehill Road” to the western boundary of the property known as “59 Grovehill Road”.
This Order is required to enable SGN to install a new gas connection and associated works. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 4 days, between the hours of 8.00am and 4.30pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 5 May 2025. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24-hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.
Rowplatt Lane (D371) Felbridge Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
On 22 April 2025, Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Rowplatt Lane (D371) Felbridge as extends from its junction with Copthorne Road (A264) and its junction with Tithe Orchard (X1525).
Alternative route – Crawley Down Road and A264 (Copthorne Road), or this route in reverse.
The Order is required to allow Entity Connect Ltd to facilitate a new electrical and gas connection and all associated works. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 18 days during the hours of 8.00am to 5.00pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 5 May 2025. Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for emergency services, residents, pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.
Various in Mole Valley Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order (No.4) 2025
On 23 April 2025 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) and 14(7) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) the effect of which will be to:- (a) prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the lengths of roads specified and described in the Schedule to this Notice; and (b) suspend the restriction on heavy commercial vehicles on C43 The Street insofar as it relates to such prohibition only. This Order is required to enable Surrey County Council to facilitate carriageway surfacing works and/or major maintenance works, which is anticipated to be completed as soon as possible within the 18 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 28 April 2025.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure and suspension of the Order will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. In the event that it is necessary to restrict any access at any time under Section 3 of the Act, the road can only be closed for a maximum of 8 hours in any 24-hour period. Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to a suitable location outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle’s owner. Access for pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained at all times. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access for emergency service vehicles to these properties, will be maintained when safe to do so and if necessary via the signed diversion route.

On 23 April 2025 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) the effect of which will be to:- (a) prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the lengths of roads specified and described in the Schedule to this Notice; and (b) revoke “Surrey County Council Various Roads in Tandridge Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order (No.4) 2023” only insofar as it relates to the entire length of Halliloo Valley Road, Woldingham. This Order is required to enable Surrey County Council to facilitate carriageway surfacing works and/or major maintenance works, which is anticipated to be completed as soon as possible within the 18 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 28 April 2025.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. D567 Sangers Drive, Horley (townpath) Public Footpath No.384 (Horley) Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
On 23 April 2025 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit pedestrians and/or other traffic proceeding on foot or by any means from entering or proceeding in the entire length of D567 Sangers Drive, Horley (townpath), otherwise known as Public Footpath No.384 (Horley). This Order is required to enable Surrey County Council to facilitate footway reconstruction works which is anticipated to be completed as soon as possible within the 6 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 25 April 2025. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. No sole means of access to any premises will be affected. There is no alternative route available for this closure.
Cottenhams (D489) Blindley Heath Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
Surrey County Council propose to make the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Cottenhams (D489) Blindley Heath as extends from the entrance to the property known as “Kings Hall” to the end of Cottenhams.
There is no alternative route for this closure.
The Order is required to allow SGN and UKPN to facilitate new connection works and all associated works. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 2 phases during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 19 May 2025 for 4 days and the second phase on 23 June 2025 for 4 days. Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Park Road (C134) Banstead Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
Surrey County Council propose to make the above-mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) and 14(7) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to: (a) prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length Park Road (C134) Banstead as it extends from the northern boundary of the property known as “The Cottage” to the eastern boundary of the property known as “The Hay Barn”; (b) prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length Park Road (C134) Banstead as it extends from the entrance to the property known as “Larklands” and the entrance to the property known as “Haughdell House”; and (c) suspend “The Surrey County Council Park Road (C134) Banstead Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025” insofar as it relates to the road described in (a).
Alternative Route – Park Road, B2217 (High Street), B2219 (Bolters Lane, Holly Lane) and Park Road, or this route in reverse.
This Order is required to enable Openreach and SGN to facilitate desilting and associated works. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 2 phases during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 18 May 2025 for 1 day and the second phase on 9 June 2025 for 1 week. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24-hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for emergency services, residents, pedestrians, cyclists and equestrians will be maintained at all times.

In the event that it is necessary to restrict any access at any time under Section 3 of the Act, the road can only be closed for a maximum of 8 hours in any 24-hour period. Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, Section 14(1) Public Footpath 102 (Reigate) Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
On 6 May 2025 Surrey County Council will make the abovementioned temporary order, the effect of which is to prohibit all traffic on foot or by any other means from entering or proceeding along Footpath 102 (Reigate) from its junction with Wiggie Lane at OS Grid Ref. 528405 151180 in a southerly direction for 225 metres to its junction with Footpath 122 (Reigate) at OS Grid Ref. 528407 150947. The Order is necessary in order to carry out works to install a new Electricity supply on behalf of UK power Networks. The closure will be in operation for a period of six months from 12 May 2025 or until completion of the works, if earlier. That period can be extended by the Secretary of State for Transport if required. The temporary closure will only be in operation when appropriate road traffic signs are displayed on site by the County Council or an authorised person acting on its behalf. Access to properties will not be affected.
The alternative route for traffic from the northern end of closure will be: Along Wiggie Road in easterly then northerly direction to St Ann’s Road North, then proceed in a clockwise direction around the roundabout via Foxboro Road to St Ann’s Road, then continue in a southerly direction, crossing Keats Avenue and Wordsworth Mead, to the southern end of the closure. The alternative route for traffic from the southern end of the closure will be the reverse of the route described above.
The Public Footpath 102 (Reigate) Temporary Closure Order 2025 will be made by the County Council under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, Section 14 (1) Public Footpath No. 403 (Salfords & Sidlow) Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
The Surrey County Council Public Footpath No. 403 (Salfords & Sidlow) Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025 was made on the grounds of public safety due to a planned railway bridge replacement. The Order came into operation on 03 February 2025. It was due to expire on 05 May 2025 but has now been continued in force by the Secretary of State for Transport until 05 July 2025 or until the completion of the works, whichever is earlier.
The Order as continued prohibits all traffic on foot or by any other means from entering or proceeding along that length of Public Footpath 403 (Salfords & Sidlow) which extends for about 215 metres in a northeasterly direction from Grid ref: 528497 146345, located along the footbridge at Salfords Station, to Grid ref: 528672 146418, at its junction with BOAT 401 (Salfords & Sidlow).
The prohibition described above will only be operative while the County Council, or an authorised person acting on its behalf, displays signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2002 (S.I. 2002 No. 3113) prohibiting the said movements. Access to properties will not be affected.
The alternative route for traffic from the western end of the closure will be: from the start of the closure along Salfords Station footbridge, head west along Public Footpath 403 (Salfords & Sidlow), then turn right into Southern Avenue and continue for about 225 metres in a northwesterly direction, then turn right and follow Honeycrock Lane in a generally easterly direction for about 225 metres, then turn right and follow BOAT 401 (Salfords & Sidlow) in a south-easterly direction for about 180 metres.
The alternative route for traffic from the eastern end of the closure will be the reverse of the route described above.
