Merton, Multiple Roads, Parking Restrictions Due To Gully Cleansing Works

1.

The Council of the London Borough of Merton hereby give notice that to enable gully cleansing works to be undertaken, they intend to make an Order to restrict parking on lengths of the roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice.

2.

During the works no person shall cause or permit any unauthorised vehicle to wait, load or unload in various lengths of the roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Existing marked parking places in the various lengths of said roads would be suspended.

Note: The works are expected to commence on 25 April 2025 and be carried out on a rolling basis. Warning signs would be posted on the road 3 days before the works are expected to take place and cones would be put in place the day before.

The works are expected to take 1 day on each road, but may take longer if there are any unforeseen circumstances or poor weather conditions.

3.

The restrictions would only apply during such times and to such an extent as indicated by the placing of prescribed signs.

4.

Nothing in the Order would apply to: -

(a) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform; or

(b) any person or vehicle engaged in the execution of the said works; or

(c) any vehicle being used for police, fire brigade or ambulance purposes.

5.

The Order would come in operation on 25 April 2025, and would remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months, or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner.

6.

Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.
