What is happening?

HERTFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL:

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF CHURCH LANE, WORMLEY AND WHITE STUBBS LANE, BROXBOURNE) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”), except for access:-

1. that length of Church Lane, Wormley from its junction with White Stubbs Lane south eastwards to the access road leading to ‘Wormleybury Manor’, a distance of approximately 1320m.

An alternative route will be via White Stubbs Lane, C54 (unnamed road), Newgate Street Village, Newgate Street, Hammondstreet Road, Longfield Lane, B156 (Brookfield Lane West/Halfhide Lane), A10 Great Cambridge Road, A1170 High Road and Church Lane.

2. that length of White Stubbs Lane, Broxbourne from its junction with Church Lane north eastwards and south eastwards for a distance of approximately 200m.

An alternative route will be via Church lane, A1170 High Road, Bell Lane, Baas Lane and White Stubbs Lane.

The Order is needed because the replacement of an existing gas main is proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 12 May 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF MUNDEN ROAD, DANE END) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Munden Road, Dane End from its junction with Pearman Drive north eastwards to its junction with Church Lane, a distance of approximately 583m (“the Road”), except for access.

An alternative route will be via Munden Road, Sacombe Pound, A602 (Tonwell Bypass/ Westmill Road), A10 (unnamed road/ Wadesmill Bypass/Puckeridge Bypass), Mentley Lane West, C16 Great Munden and Munden Road.

The Order is needed because overhead cabling and associated works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 13 May 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING AND TEMPORARY WAITING RESTRICTIONS IN VARIOUS ROADS IN WARE, WALTHAM CROSS, CHESHUNT, STANDON AND WELLPOND GREEN) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”) and to prohibit all vehicles from waiting at any time on both sides of these lengths of Roads whilst works are in progress:-

1. that length of The Crest, Ware from its junction with Heath Drive north westwards for its entire length.

There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

2. that length of Hurst Drive, Waltham Cross from its junction with Raglan Avenue south westwards to its junction with Cameron Drive, a distance of approximately 321m.

An alternative route will be via Raglan Avenue and Cameron Drive.

3. that length of Penton Drive, Cheshunt from its junction with Cadmore Lane south westwards, south eastwards, north eastwards and south eastwards to its junction with Bellamy Road, a distance of approximately 544m.

An alternative route will be via Cadmore Lane and Bellamy Road.

4. that length of Ashdown Crescent, Cheshunt from its northernmost junction with Elm Drive south westwards and south eastwards to its southernmost junction with Elm Drive, a distance of approximately 652m.

An alternative route will be via Elm Drive.

5. that length of Frogs Hall Lane, Standon/3U136 (unnamed road), Wellpond Green from its junction with A120 Stortford Road south eastwards, north eastwards, south eastwards and north eastwards for a distance of approximately 600m.

An alternative route will be via A120 Stortford Road and 3U136 (unnamed road).

6. that length of 3U136 (unnamed road), Wellpond Green from its junction with A120 Stortford Road south eastwards for a distance of approximately 350m.

An alternative route will be via A120 Stortford Road, Frogs Hall Lane and 3U136 (unnamed road).

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 12 May 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF BURTON LANE, GOFFS OAK) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Burton Lane, Goffs Oak from a point 115m north of its easternmost junction with B156 Goffs Lane north eastwards for a distance of approximately 50m (“the Road”).

An alternative route will be via Burton Lane, B156 Goffs Lane, Newgatestreet Road, St James Road and Burton Lane.

The Order is needed because electrical works are proposed to be executed near the Road.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 12 May 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF COCKBUSH AVENUE, HERTFORD) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Cockbush Avenue, Hertford from a point in line with the western boundary of No.8 Cockbush Avenue north eastwards for a distance of approximately 18m (“the Road”), except for access.

There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

The Order is needed because utility repair works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 12 May 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF ORCHARD ROAD, TEWIN) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Orchard Road, Tewin from a point 40m south east of its junction with Badgers Walk south eastwards for a distance of approximately 30m (“the Road”).

An alternative route will be via Orchard Road, Harmer Green Lane, New Road, Harmer Green Lane, Hertford Road, B1000 Hertford Road, Churchfield Road, School Lane, Lower Green, Upper Green Road, Upper Green and Orchard Road.

The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 28 April 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF BRAMFIELD LANE, WATERFORD) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Bramfield Lane, Waterford from its junction with Tattle Hill north eastwards, south eastwards and north eastwards to its junction with A119 High Road, a distance of approximately 967m (“the Road”).

An alternative route will be via Tattle Hill, Bramfield Road and A119 (North Road/High Road).

The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 28 April 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF VARIOUS ROADS IN BRICKENDON AND HERTFORD) ORDER 2025 

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”), except for access:-

1. that length of Brickendon Lane, Brickendon/Hertford from its junction with Pembridge Lane north eastwards, north westwards, north eastwards and north westwards to its junction with B158 Horns Mill Road, a distance of approximately 4001m.

An alternative route will be via Pembridge Lane, White Stubbs Lane, C54 (unnamed road), Church Road, Robins Nest Hill and B158 (Lower Hatfield Road/Horns Mill Road).

2. that length of Pembridge Lane, Brickendon from its junction with Cock Lane south westwards, north westwards and south westwards for a distance of approximately 1908m.

An alternative route will be via Cock Lane, White Stubbs Lane and Pembridge Lane.

3. that length of Queens Road, Hertford from its junction with Morgans Road north eastwards and north westwards to its junction with Queens Road, a distance of approximately 848m.

An alternative route will be via Morgans Road, Highfield Road, B158 (Pegs Lane/Hale Road) and Hale Road.

4. that length of Villiers Street, Hertford from its junction with Railway Street south eastwards to its junction with A119 Ware Road, a distance of approximately 166m.

An alternative route will be via Railway Street, Mill Road and Ware Road.

5. that length of Morgans Road, Hertford from its junction with Highfield Road south eastwards to its junction with Queens Road, a distance of approximately 301m.

An alternative route will be via Highfield Road and Queens Road.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 1 May 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF MILL LANE, WATTON AT STONE) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Mill Lane, Watton At Stone from a point 40m north east of its junction with High Street north eastwards for a distance of approximately 14m (“the Road”), except for access.

There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 30 April 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

THE HERTFORDSHIRE (WEST STREET AND TUDOR SQUARE, WARE) (PEDESTRIAN AND CYCLE ZONE) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that the Hertfordshire County Council in order to improve road safety and the amenities of the area proposes under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to introduce new restrictions on West Street and Tudor Square, Ware as specified in the Schedules to this Notice.

Documents giving more detailed particulars of the proposals may be viewed from 24 April 2025 during office hours, at Main Reception, County Hall, Hertford, or on-line at www.hertfordshire.gov.uk/trafficorders by selecting East Herts and looking at Ref: EH00724.

SCHEDULE 2: Prohibition of Stopping except Police vehicles – that section of Pedestrian and Cycle Zone listed below and as set out in the Order and scheme plan – Part of Tudor Square.

THE HERTFORDSHIRE (LONDON ROAD AND VIADUCT ROAD, WARE) (RESTRICTION OF WAITING) ORDER 2024

NOTICE is given that the Hertfordshire County Council has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (1984 Act) to introduce new waiting restrictions in parts of Ware as specified in the Schedule to this Notice. The Order will come into effect on Saturday 10 May 2025.

Documents giving more detailed particulars of the Order may be viewed from 24 April 2025 to 5 June 2025 during office hours at Main Reception, County Hall, Hertford or online at www.hertfordshire.gov.uk/trafficorders by selecting East Herts and looking at Ref: EH00424.

SCHEDULE: No waiting at any time – those sections of road listed below and as set out in the Order and accompanying plan – parts of London Road and Viaduct Road.
