The East Sussex - Temporary Road Closure For Works
What is happening?
EAST SUSSEX COUNTY COUNCIL
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
The East Sussex (U7520 Lower Road, Forest Row) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Lower Road – from the junction with Station Road to the junction with A22 London Road.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via A22 London Road – B2110 Hartfield Road and vice versa.
The Order commences 28 April 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier.
However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 28 April and 1 May 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U6192 Lymden Lane, Stonegate) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
To allow South East Water to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Lymden Lane – from the junction with C214 Bardown Road to the junction with B2099 High Street.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via B2099 High Street, Shovers Green – C214 Stonegate Road, Bardown Road and vice versa.
The Order commenced 15 April 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier.
However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 28 and 29 April 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U6187 Tinkers Lane, Ticehurst) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
To allow UKPN to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Tinkers Lane – from the junction with B2087 Dale Hill to the junction with U6187 Boarders Lane.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U6188 Cross Lane – B2099 High Street – B2087 Lower Platts, Dale Hill and vice versa.
The Order commences 28 April 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier.
However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 28 April 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U6193 Wards Lane, Ticehurst) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Wards Lane – for its entire length.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U6892 Birchetts Green Lane – U6192 Burnt Lodge Lane – B2099 High Street and vice versa.
The Order commences 12 May 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier.
However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 12 and 13 May 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (C251 Beech Green Lane, Withyham) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
To allow BT Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Beech Green Lane – from the junction with C251 Station Road to the junction with A264 East Grinstead Road.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via A264 East Grinstead Road, Colestock Road – B2026 Edenbridge Road – B2110 Castlefields, Withyham Road – C251 Station Road and vice versa.
The Order commences 14 May 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier.
However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 14 May 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (C272 Buckland Hill, Cousley Wood, Wadhurst) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
To allow BT Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Buckland Hill – from the junction with C272 Osmers Hill to the junction with C82 Bartley Mill Road.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C82 Monks Lane – C537 Monks Lane – B2100 Cousley Wood Road – C539 Balaclava Lane – C272 Osmers Hill and vice versa.
The Order commences 14 May 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier.
However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 14 May 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U7547 Snape Lane, Wadhurst) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Snape Lane – from the junction with U7546 Wenbans Lane to the junction with U7548 Brinkers Lane.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U7546 Riseden Road – C14 Tidebrook Road – B2100 Mayfield Lane – B2099 Durgates, High Street, Lower High Street – U7548 Brinkers Lane and vice versa.
The Order commences 12 May 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier.
However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 12 May and 6 June 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (B2169 Bayham Road, Frant/Bells Yew Green) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Bayham Road – from the junction with C82 Bartley Mill Road to the county border.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via B2169 Furnace Lane – B2100 The Slade, Cousley Wood Road, Sparrows Green Road – B2099 Durgates, Station Road, Station Hill, Frant Road, Riverhall Hill, Wadhurst Road – A267 Mayfield Road, Frant Green Road, Frant Road and vice versa.
The Order commences 12 May 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier.
However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 12 and 23 May 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.
