Highways Notice

NOTICE OF TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC – ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – Chelford Road, Prestbury

Notice is hereby given that the Cheshire East Borough Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, and of all other enabling powers has made an order the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic.

Prohibition of traffic – Chelford Road, Prestbury – For the full extent.

The alternative route will be via Chelford Road, Prestbury Road, Macclesfield Road, Alderley Road, The Village and vice versa which is considered the most suitable route.

This order will come into operation on Monday 21 April 2025 and will continue in force for 18 months or for such less time as is necessary to complete the work to be executed in the highway, although it is anticipated that the works will be completed by Friday 2 May 2025.

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF PEDESTRIANS

Public Footpath No. 28 Parish of Prestbury and Public Footpath No. 21 Parish of Over Alderley

Notice is hereby given that the Secretary of State for Transport in pursuance of the power conferred upon him by sub-section 15 (5) of the aforementioned Section 15 has approved the Order being extended and continuing in force until 14 November 2025. The effect of the Order will be to temporarily prohibit pedestrians on the following:

That length of Public Footpath No. 28 Prestbury which commences at OS grid reference (OSGR) SJ 8805 7627 and runs in a generally south direction for approx. 120 m to the junction with Footpath No. 21 Over Alderley at OSGR SJ 8805 7612.

That length of Public Footpath No. 21 Over Alderley which commences at OSGR SJ 8805 7612 and runs in a generally south direction for approx. 360 m to OSGR SJ 8799 7584.

The closure is necessary to prevent the likelihood of danger to the public posed by a bridge that is in a poor state of repair.

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF PEDESTRIANS

Public Footpath (Part) No 15 Parish of Bosley and Public Footpath (Part) No 31 Parish of Gawsworth

Notice is hereby given pursuant to the provisions of Section 14 (1) (b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, that the Cheshire East Borough Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit pedestrians on the following:

That Public Footpath No.15 in the parish of Bosley, which commences at the junction with Bullgate Lane at OS grid reference (OSGR) SJ 9051 6697 and runs in a generally north north east direction for approx. 449m to the parish border at OSGR SJ 9072 6762.

That Public Footpath No.31 in the parish of Gawsworth, which commences at OSGR SJ 9072 6762 and runs in a generally north north east direction for approx. 595m to the junction with Cowbrook Lane at OSGR SJ 9097 6830.

The closure is necessary to prevent the likelihood of danger posed by a canal breach.

The Order continues the restriction that came into force on 3 April 2025 and will continue in force for a period not exceeding 6 months, or until the works required on or adjacent to the footpath are completed
