What is happening?
GLOUCESTERSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
Temporary Closure 500051 Chicknalls Lane
(Awre Parish) Forest Of Dean District
Gloucestershire County Council, as traffic authority, has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) to temporarily close part of the 500051 Chicknalls Lane Road from its junction with A48 to its junction with Cherry Grove for a distance of approximately 240 metres.
The reason for the said closure is for works by Gigaclear.
The said road is expected to be closed on 30th April 2025 only or until the works have been completed. For further information, please contact Gloucestershire Highways on 08000 514 514 or visit www.gloucestershire.gov.uk.
Alternative Route – no diversion is possible but access will be managed where possible. Emergency access will be maintained. Pedestrian access to premises on or next to the road will not be maintained as there is no existing pedestrian route at the location.

Temporary Closure 400097 Blakeney Hill Road
(Awre Parish) Forest Of Dean District
Gloucestershire County Council, as traffic authority, has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) to temporarily close part of the 400097 Blakeney Hill Road outside the property known as ‘Myrtle Cottage’ for a distance of approximately 20 metres.
The reason for the said closure is for electricity service works by National Grid.

(Mitcheldean Parish) Forest Of Dean District

The reason for the said closure is for works on behalf of Severn Trent Water.

(Hewelsfield & Brockweir Parish) Forest Of Dean District
Gloucestershire County Council, as traffic authority, intends to make an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) to temporarily close part of the 400016 Underhill from near the property known as ‘Underhill Cottage’ for a distance of approximately 260 metres.
The reason for the said closure is for pole testing and replacement works.

The reason for the said closure is for works on behalf of Severn Trent Water

Temporary Closure Of Public Footpath Ene 17
(Newnham On Severn Parish) Forest Of Dean District
Gloucestershire County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily close under Sections 14, 15 and 16 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) part of Public Footpath ENE 17 its junction with Public Footpath ENE 16 extending in a generally north easterly direction for approximately 400 metres to its junction with Dean Road/ The Green.
The said Public Footpath falls within the Parish of Newnham on Severn in the Forest of Dean District within the County of Gloucestershire;
The said closure is necessary to safeguard the public whilst works on the level crossing completed. The said Public Footpath is expected to be closed from 00:01hrs on 12th May 2025 until 06:00hrs on 17th May 2025. However, the Order may permit the closure of the said Public
Footpath for up to six months from the date of the initial said closure. After this date if the said closure is still required it will be necessary to apply to the Secretary of State for an extension of time.
Alternative Routes – As indicated on Order Plan. Emergency access to adjoining premises will be maintained. Pedestrian access cannot be maintained for pedestrian safety.

Temporary Closure 406125 Naas Lane
(Lydney Town) Forest Of Dean District
Gloucestershire County Council, as traffic authority, intends to make an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) to temporarily close part of the 406125 Naas Lane Road from over Naas Level Crossing for a distance of approximately 500 metres.
The reason for the said closure is for works to the track by Network Rail.
The said road is expected to be closed from 18:00hrs on 14th May 2025 until 06:00hrs on 15th May 2025 only or until the works have been completed. For further information, please contact Gloucestershire Highways on 08000 514 514 or visit www.gloucestershire.gov.uk.
Alternative Route – as signed on site. Pedestrian access to premises on or next to the road, and emergency access, will not be maintained due to safety reasons.
