The Shropshire Council (Bridleway 17 and Footpath 17, Parish of Wem Rural and
Footpath 11 (Part), Parish of Wem Urban)
Public Path Diversion Order 2025
On 23 rd April 2025, The Shropshire Council (the “Council”) confirmed the above-named Order made under section 119 of the Highways Act 1980 and section 53A(2) of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981. The effect of the Order as confirmed is to divert to a new location Wem Rural bridleway 17 and footpath 17 and part of Wem Urban footpath 11 that are located between grid references SJ 5055 3069 and SJ 5104 2989 and in the vicinity of New House Farm, SY4 5UN. A copy of the Order as confirmed and the Order Map may be seen on the Council’s website at

outdoor.recreation@shropshire.gov.uk
Shropshire Council certify that the order becomes
operative on 28 th March 2025; but if a person aggrieved by the Order wants to question its validity, or that of any provision contained in it, on the ground that it is not within the powers of the Highways Act 1980, as amended, or on the ground that any requirement of the Act, as amended, or any regulation made under the Act has not been complied with in relation to the Order, he or she may, under paragraph 2 of Schedule 2 to the Act as applied by paragraph 5 of Schedule 6 to the Act, within 6 weeks from 23 rd April 2025 make an application to the High Court.
