Hertfordshire, Multiple Traffic Notices, Temporary Road Closures due to Utility and Maintenance Works
What is happening?
HERTFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL:
(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF COMMON LANE, RADLETT)
ORDER 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Common Lane, Radlett from a point in line with the northern boundary of ‘Common Lane House’ south westwards for a distance of approximately 12m (“the Road”), except for access.
An alternative route will be via Common Lane, New Road, B462 Radlett Road, Penrose Lane, Grange Lane and Common Lane.
The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 8 May 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF B652 STATION ROAD, HARPENDEN)
ORDER 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of B652 Station Road, Harpenden from its junction with Carlton Road south westwards to its junction with Victoria Road, a distance of approximately 89m (“the Road”), except for access.
An alternative route will be via B652 Station Road, B653 (Lower Luton Road/Lower Harpenden Road), A1081 (New Airport Way/ London Road/Luton Road/High Street/St Albans Road) and B652 Station Road.
The Order is needed because bridge inspection works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 5 May 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF THEOBALD STREET, RADLETT)
ORDER 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Theobald Street, Radlett from its junction with A5183 Watling Street north eastwards to its junction with Craigweil Avenue, a distance of approximately 244m(“the Road”).
An alternative route will be via A5183 (Watling Street/Dochendo Hill/ Watling Street), B5378 Alum Lane and Theobald Street.
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 7 May 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING AND TEMPORARY WAITING RESTRICTIONS IN VARIOUS ROADS IN HARPENDEN, ST ALBANS AND LONDON COLNEY) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”), except for access and to prohibit all vehicles from waiting at any time on both sides of these lengths of Roads whilst works are in progress:–
that length of Hadleigh Court, Harpenden from its junction with Welbeck Rise north westwards, south westwards, north eastwards and north westwards for its entire length.
There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.
the road situated to the rear of Nos.47-54 Whitecroft, St Albans from its junction with New House Park south eastwards and south westwards for its entire length.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF MORETON AVENUE, HARPENDEN)
ORDER 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Moreton Avenue, Harpenden from its junction with Moreton End Lane south eastwards for a distance of approximately 29m (“the Road”).
An alternative route will be via Moreton End Lane, A1081 Luton Road, Douglas Road and Moreton Avenue or via Moreton End Lane, Alders End Lane, Townsend Lane, Douglas Road and Moreton Avenue.
The Order is needed because the replacement of an existing utility cover is proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 8 May 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF ALDENHAM ROAD,
LETCHMORE HEATH) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Aldenham Road, Letchmore Heath from a point 55m north of its junction with Butterfly Lane north westwards a distance of approximately 264m (“the Road”).
An alternative route will be via Aldenham Road, Butterfly Lane, A5183 (Watling Street/Cobden Hill/Watling Street), Park Road, B462 (Watford Road/Radlett Road), Round Bush Lane, Primrose Lane, Grange Lane, The Green and Aldenham Road.
The Order is needed because service connection works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 21 April 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING AND TEMPORARY WAITING RESTRICTIONS IN BRIDE HALL LANE, AYOT ST LAWRENCE/ WHEATHAMPSTEAD) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Bride Hall Lane, Ayot St Lawrence/Wheathampstead from its junction with Bibbs Hall Lane south westwards, south eastwards and south westwards to its junction with Codicote Road, a distance of approximately 1837m (“the Road”), except for access.
An alternative route will be via Codicote Road and Hill Farm Lane.
ADDITIONALLY all vehicles are prohibited from waiting at any time on both sides of this length of the Road whilst works are in progress.
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 21 April 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.
