What is happening?

Notice of Intention

NOTICE is hereby given that Herefordshire Council, as highway authority, intend, under its relevant powers, to make the following Order: C1150 From A438 To Yarkhill Marsh, Tarrington, Temporary Road Closure Order, to temporarily prohibit the use by vehicles on the C1150 From A438 To Yarkhill Marsh, Tarrington, at the Stoke Edith level crossing. Grid Ref: 361505/241315.

The alternative route for those affected by the proposal is via the C1150 onto the C1149 onto the A417 onto the A438 onto the C1150 and vice versa.

The said closure is required due to plain line railway tamping works and the likelihood of danger to the public whilst the works are taking place. The said closure will come into force on 17th of May 2025 and remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months (unless extended with the consent of the Secretary of State) but the works are expected to be completed within 1 night (23.40hrs to 9.00hrs).
