SOUTH GLOUCESTERSHIRE COUNCIL

(Various Footpaths, Longwell Green) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Foot Passengers) Order 2023
Notice is hereby given that the above order, made by South Gloucestershire District Council on 19 April 2023, has been continued in force with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport until 30 October 2025 or until such time as the works are completed, whichever is the earlier. The effect of the order has closed, temporarily, to foot passengers the lengths of footpath specified in the Schedule to this notice. This order was required in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon demolition and construction works and would have expired on 30 April 2025. Schedule – (the entire length): 1. POL/15/10; 2. POL/15/20; 3. POL/15/30; 4. POL/15/90; Alternative Route: Marsham Way, Aldermoor Way; Marsham Way, A431; Aldermoor Way, A431; POL/14/20. POL/5/30

(Public Footpath LWR/26/10, Wickwar) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Foot Passengers) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has closed, temporarily, to foot passengers the entire length of Public Footpath LWR/26/10. This order was required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon aqueduct repair works. The order became operative from 28 April 2025 for a maximum period of six months. The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 2 months duration. Alternative route: LYA/94/10, Westend Road and vice versa.

(Public Footpath LWE/37/50, Westerleigh) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Foot Passengers, Pedal Cycles and Equestrians) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has closed, temporarily, to foot passengers, pedal cycles and equestrians that length of Public Footpath LWE/37/50 which extends from a point 55m north east of LWE/41/10 north eastwards for 10m. This order was required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon trial hole works. The order became operative from 28 April 2025 for a maximum period of six months. The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 3 days duration. Alternative route: LWE/37/50 (parts unaffected), LWE/37/60, Westerleigh Road, Kidney Hill, Broad Lane and vice versa.

(Bolingbroke Way, Filton) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has closed, temporarily, to vehicles that length of Bolingbroke Way, inbound and outbound, which extends from Gloucester Road North eastwards for 130m. This order was required for the following reason: in connection with resurfacing works. The order became operative from 28 April 2025 for a maximum period of eighteen months. The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 6 weeks duration. Alternative route: Gipsy Patch Lane, A38 and vice versa.

(Field Lane, Littleton Upon Severn) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles, Foot Passengers, Pedal Cycles and Equestrians) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has closed, temporarily, to vehicles, foot passengers, pedal cycles and equestrians that length of Field Lane which extends from Jubilee Way north eastwards for 90m. This order was required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon new water connection works on or adjacent to the highway. The order became operative from 29 April 2025 for a maximum period of eighteen months. The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 3 days duration. Alternative route: Jubilee Way, The Green and vice versa.

(Henfield Road, Pucklechurch) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles, Foot Passengers, Pedal Cycles and Equestrians) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has closed, temporarily, to vehicles, foot passengers, pedal cycles and equestrians that length of Henfield Road which extends from a point 140m north of Coxgrove Hill northwards for 30m. This order was required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon supply cut off works on or adjacent to the highway. The order became operative from 29 April 2025 for a maximum period of eighteen months. The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 3 days duration. Alternative route: Henfield Road (parts unaffected), Westerleigh Road, Parkfield Road, Coxgrove Hill and vice versa.

(Public Footpath LAT/5/10, Acton Turville) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Foot Passengers) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has closed, temporarily, to foot passengers that length of Public Footpath LAT/5/10 which extends from Littleton Drew Road southwards for 85m. This order was required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon development works. The order became operative from 1 May 2025 for a maximum period of six months. The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 6 months duration. Alternative route: Follow signed diversion to perimeter of field.

(Gorse Lane, Cold Ashton) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has closed, temporarily, to vehicles that length of Gorse Lane which extends from the A420 to the A46. This order was required for the following reason: in connection with reconstruction and resurfacing works. The order became operative from 1 May 2025 for a maximum period of eighteen months. The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of a 1 month duration, between 8pm and 6am. Alternative route: A420, A46 and vice versa.

(A420 Tog Hill and A420 London Road, Wick) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has closed, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of road specified in the Schedule to this notice. This order was required for the following reason: in connection with carriageway reconstruction and resurfacing works. The order became operative from 1 May 2025 for a maximum period of eighteen months. The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of a 1 month duration, between 8pm and 6am. Schedule: A420 Tog Hill – that length which extends from Gorse Lane to Culleysgate Lane; A420 London Road – that length which extends from Cullysgate Lane north westwards for 460m. Alternative route: Tog Hill, A46 Gloucester Road, A46 Bath Road, Wapley Road, Codrington Road, Westerleigh Hill, Westerleigh Road, A4174 Ring Road, Deanery Road, High Street, London Road, Homeapple Hill, Riding Barn Hill, Church Road, High Street, London Road, Tog Hill and vice versa.

(Public Footpath Eastland Avenue to Hawthorn Crescent, Thornbury) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Foot Passengers) 2025
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intends to make an order the effect of which will be to close, temporarily, to foot passengers the entire length of Public Footpath Eastland Avenue to Hawthorn Crescent. This order is required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon gas main upgrade works. The order will be operative from 19 May 2025 for a maximum period of six months. The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 2 weeks duration. Alternative route: Hawthorn Crescent, North Road, North East Road, Eastland Avenue and vice versa.

(Footpath and Cycle Path New Road, Stoke Gifford) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Pedal Cycles) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intends to make an order the effect of which will be to close, temporarily, to pedal cycles that length of Footpath and Cycle Path New Road which extends from Great Swanmoor Close north eastwards for 375m. This order is required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon telecom installation works. The order will be operative from 23 May 2025 for a maximum period of six months. The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 2 weeks duration. No alternative route available: Pedestrian walkway provided.

(Swinhay Lane, Charfield) (No.2) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intends to make an order the effect of which will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles that length of Swinhay Lane which extends from Huntingford Farm Lane southwards for 350m. This order is required for the following reason: in connection with overhead cabling works. The order will be operative from 23 May 2025 for a maximum period of eighteen months. The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of a 1 day duration, between 9:30am and 3:30pm. 
Alternative route: Swinhay Lane, Huntingdon Farm Lane and vice versa.
