Gateway Road - Temporary Prohibition of Traffic to Allow Underground Civil Engineering Works
What is happening?
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)(a) and (7) THE A38 TRUNK ROAD (BURTON UPON TRENT, STAFFORDSHIRE) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC IN LAYBY) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited (Company No. 9346363) has made an order on the A38 Trunk Road, at Burton upon Trent, in the County of Staffordshire, to allow underground civil engineering works to be carried out.
The effect of the Order will be to close the layby adjacent to the southbound carriageway of the A38, approximately 420 metres south of the centreline of its junction with Gateway Road, at Burton upon Trent.
The work will be carried out overnight between 20:00 hours and 06:00 hours and is expected to start on Monday 5 May 2025 and continue for approximately 3 nights.
The Order will come into force on 28 April 2025.
Vehicles being used for police, fire and rescue authority or ambulance purposes, and vehicles being used in connection with the works will be exempt from the closure.
