Dorset - Multiple Traffic Notices, Temporary Road Closures and Parking Amendments

What is happening?

Temporary Closure of Various Roads, Winterborne Kingston

DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 16 May 2025 and will remain in force for 18 months, however, it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 30 May 2025.

This Order will enable Dorset Council to carry out carriageway maintenance and resurfacing works.

The effect of the Order is:

[1] To impose temporary road closure on Various Roads, Winterborne Kingston as listed: [i] Sackville Street, Winterborne Kingston from junction with Broad Close to junction with Duck Street; [ii] C6, Winterborne Kingston from junction with Wind Whistle Way to junction with A354. A locally signed diversion route will be put in place to enable traffic to travel around the closed sections. Please note the closures will be in operation, as and when indicated by signs on site. Advanced warning signs will be placed on the road two weeks advance of the closure to indicate the exact dates the closure will affect the roads.

[2] To impose clearway and parking suspension as indicated by signs on site to prevent waiting or parking on the highway along Various Roads, Winterborne Kingston as listed: [i] Sackville Street, Winterborne Kingston from junction with Broad Close to junction with Duck Street; [ii] C6, Winterborne Kingston from junction with Wind Whistle Way to junction with A354. Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by this Notice may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.

Temporary Closure of Unnamed Road, Dewlish

DORSET COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 14 May 2025 and will remain in force for 18 months, however, it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 28 May 2025.

This Order will enable Dorset Council to carry out carriageway maintenance and resurfacing works.

The effect of the Order is:

[1] To impose temporary road closure on Unnamed Road, Dewlish from the junction with Jock's Hill to the junction with Church Street, a distance of approximately 1590 metres. A locally signed diversion route will be put in place to enable traffic to travel around the closed section. Please note the closures will be in operation, as and when indicated by signs on site. Advanced warning signs will be placed on the road two weeks ahead of the closure to indicate the exact dates the closure will affect the roads.

[2] To impose clearway and parking suspension as indicated by signs on site to prevent waiting or parking on the highway along Unnamed Road, Dewlish from the junction with Jock’s Hill to the junction with Church Street, a distance of approximately 1590 metres. Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by this Notice may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.

DORSET COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 10 June 2025 and will remain in force for 18 months, however, it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 25 June 2025.

This Order will enable Dorset Council to carry out carriageway maintenance and resurfacing works.

The effect of the Order is:

[1] To impose temporary road closure on Puddletown Road, Wareham from the junction with Tout Hill to the junction with A352 Worgret Hill (in both directions), a distance of approximately 6940 metres. A locally signed diversion route will be put in place to enable traffic to travel around the closed sections. Please note the closures will be in operation, as and when indicated by signs on site. Advanced warning signs will be placed on the road two weeks ahead of the closure to indicate the exact dates the closure will affect the roads.

Temporary Closure of West End, Spetisbury

DORSET COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles, cyclists and horse riders will be prohibited from proceeding along West End, Spetisbury between Spetisbury House and The Glebe, a distance of approximately 1020 metres. The order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 19 May 2025 and will remain in force for 18 months, however, it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 6 June 2025.

This Order will enable Wessex Internet, safe access to carry out fibre cable installation works.

There will be no signed alternative route on this occasion, however access will be maintained.

(Amendment No. 4) Order 202*

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of Dorset proposes to make the above-mentioned Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended.
