Dorset - Multiple Temporary Road Closures due to Works

What is happening?

Temporary Closure Of Various Roads, Chedington

DORSET COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along VARIOUS ROADS, CHEDINGTON;

PENNEY’S HILL, CHEDINGTON, between its junction with Chedington Lane and its junction with Village Road, a distance of approximately 200 metres.

VILLAGE ROAD, CHEDINGTON, in its entirety.

The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 06 May 2025 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 23 May 2025.

This Order will enable Wessex Internet, safe access to install fibre cable.

An alternative vehicular route will be signed using; A356 - Chedington Lane

The closures will be carried out in phases to allow for diversion routes.

JAN BRITTON, Executive Director for Place Services - Dorset Council, County Hall, Dorchester DT1 1XJ. Any person who uses or permits the use of a vehicle in contravention of the Notice will be liable on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding £1000.

Temporary Traffic Management Order Of Mangerton Lane, Mangerton

DORSET COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 05 May 2025 and will remain in force for 18 months, however, it is anticipated that the works will be completed between 01 July 2025 and 14 July 2025.

This Order will enable Dorset Council to carry out carriageway surface treatment works.

The effect of the Order is as follows:

[1] To impose a temporary road closure on MANGERTON LANE, MANGERTON, between its junction with Townsend Way and a point approximately 2480 metres north east.

[2] To impose a parking suspension as indicated by signs on site to prevent parking on the highway along MANGERTON LANE, MANGERTON, between its junction with Townsend Way and a point approximately 2480 metres north east.

[3] To impose a clearway as indicated by signs on site to prevent waiting on the highway along MANGERTON LANE, MANGERTON, between its junction with Townsend Way and a point approximately 2480 metres north east.

Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by this Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986. Please note that the dates are a window of opportunity and the road may not be closed for the whole duration stated above and the works are weather dependant.

A locally signed diversion route will be put in place to enable traffic to travel around the closed sections.

[3] To impose a clearway as indicated by signs on site to prevent waiting on the highway along B3164, BROADWINDSOR, between its junction with West hill and its junction with B3165, a distance of approximately 5205 metres.
