Canterbury, Multiple Temporary Traffic Regulation Notices

What is happening?

HIGHWAYS

Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984,  makes or intends to make the following Orders.

CANTERBURY AREA

Bekesbourne Lane, Bekesbourne. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER APRIL 2025

To allow overhead cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Bekesbourne Lane,  Bekesbourne, from 30th April 2025, for up to one day, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction with Bekesbourne Hill, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Bekesbourne Lane, A257 High Street, A257 The Hill, A257 Canterbury Road, A257 Littlebourne Road, Bekesbourne Lane, Bekesbourne Hill and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Bigbury Road, Chartham Hatch & Tonford Lane, Harbledown (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER MAY 2025

To allow pole testing works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Bigbury Road, Chartham Hatch & Tonford Lane, Harbledown, from 14th May 2025, for up to one day, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30, or until the works have been completed.

The roads will be closed at the junctions of Faulkners Lane, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There are no alternative routes for these closures, however, residential and emergency access will be maintained at all times when it is safe to do so.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Bridge Road, Lower Hardres & Bridge Road, Bridge (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER MAY 2025

To allow pole testing works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Bridge Road, Lower Hardres & Bridge Road, Bridge, from 15th May 2025, for up to one day, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction with B2068 Old Dover Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic Eastbound is via Bridge Road, B2068 Nackington Road, Old Dover Road, New Dover Road, A2050 Dover Road, Dover Road Slip East On, A2 J A2050 Patrixbourne Join SE, A2 from J A2050 Patrixbourne to J A260/B2046 SE, Biffrons Hill, Bekesbourne Hill, Town Hill, Station Road.

The alternative route for any through traffic Westbound is via Station Road, A2050 Dover Road, New Dover Road, B2068 Old Dover Road, Nackington Road, Bridge Road.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Claremont Place, Canterbury, CT1 3SS (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER MAY 2025

To allow ducting works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Claremont Place, Canterbury, from 12th May 2025, for up to one day, between the hours of 09:30 and 17:00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the junctions with York Road and Tudor Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Tudor Road, Grove Terrace, York Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Covet Lane, Kingston, CT4 6JT (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER MAY 2025

To allow tree works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Covet Lane, Kingston, from 13th May 2025, for up to one day, between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside The Bungalow, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Covet Lane, Turks Hill, Westwood Road, The Street, Bonny Bush Hill, Black Robin Lane, Covet Lane and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Highstead, Chislet, CT3 4LX (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER MAY 2025

To allow new connection works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Highstead, Chislet, from 13th May 2025, with estimated completion by 15th May 2025, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside Holly Cottage, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Highstead, Boyden Gate Hill, North Stream, Chapel Lane and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Kake Street, Waltham, CT4 5BQ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER MAY 2025

To allow pole testing works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Kake Street, Waltham, from 12th May 2025, for up to one day, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the junctions with Richdore Road and Hobday Wood Lane, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Kake Street, Anvil Green Road, Richdore Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Pett Bottom Road, Upper Hardres, CT4 6EH (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER MAY 2025

To allow pole testing works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Pett Bottom Road, Upper Hardres, from 13th May 2025, for up to one day, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the junctions with Wood Gate and Westwood Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Pett Bottom Road, Manns Hill, The Street, Hardres Court Road, Tapleys Hill and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Pett Bottom Road, Upper Hardres, CT4 6EQ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER MAY 2025

To allow telegraph pole replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Pett Bottom Road, Upper Hardres, from 14th May 2025, with estimated completion by 15th May 2025, between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction with Lynsore Court, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Pett Bottom Road, Manns Hill, The Street, Hardres Court Road, Tapleys Hill and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Station Road, Chartham, CT4 7HU (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER APRIL 2025

To allow level crossing works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Station Road, Chartham, from 23:30 hours on 28th April 2025, with estimated completion by 05:00 hours on 29th April 2025, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed 20m either side of the Chartham station level crossing, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via The Green, Parish Road, Bolts Hill, Shalmsford Street, A28 Ashford Road, Station Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Western Avenue, Herne Bay, CT6 8TW (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER APRIL 2025

To allow remedial works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Western Avenue, Herne Bay, from 30th April 2025, with estimated completion by 2nd May 2025, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of number 82, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Western Avenue, B2205 Sea Street, Avenue Road, Station Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
